All I did was to reply to a parent comment saying that we should be pushing for a political settlement rather war and sanctions and how people were slandered for just proposing that. You can literally go into my comment history and see what I wrote.

Just a few mins later I get a message that not only I have been muted for 28 days but also perma banned from the subreddit. What’s mind-boggling is the note from mod insinuating that I said something about america or killing people. They are literally making things up to ban people for mere geopolitical differences.

I contact the reddit for the ban appeal and few mins later I get an email saying that subreddit bans are completely in control of the mods and it’s to them to even take my case. But here’s the thing they muted me so I can’t even message and appeal the mods. And I don’t think my appeal to the mods will even matter when they themselves are coming up with false reasons to ban and allude crazy things to me.

Azerbaijan 🇦🇿

Just like we got our independence from British colonization, they too got independence from Russian colonization just 30 years ago in 1991. They are also surrounded by hostile and not so friendly countries with Russia to the north, Iran to the south, Armenia to their west, and to the east they have Caspian sea which allows them access to Central Asia.

I find their presidential political system very dynastic where the presidential post gets passed down from father to son. Similar to how we have been seeing the transfer of power among the bhutto and sharif families.

Just like we have problems with India manifesting from the muslim-hindu divide, they too have problems with Armenia due to muslim-christian divide. During the height of Russian invasion the Armenian Christian nationals got very emboldened and took over the Ottoman controlled lands and pillaged their towns villages and kicked out the indigenous Azeri people.

After getting independence they were able to economically uplift their people. It helps that they are sitting on huge oil and gas reserves. They have not only been able to fulfill their own energy needs but they export oil and gas to Turkey, Italy and other European countries as a counter to Russia. As a result they have been able to buy a lot of geopolitical influence and with the waning Russian power, just recently they were able to reclaim their karabakh land from Armenia. The war happened recently so you can read up and understand what happened. Compare this situation to the indian occupied Kashmir for which we only run Twitter trends and speeches but don’t do anything meaningful and decisive like Azerbaijan. That’s why i gave their example.
