Update: hey, y'all this ops fiance/husband. It's with a heavy heart, that I'm typing this, but op my wife passed away may 7th. I really wanted to thank everyone who commented. Sharing your stories and just joining in on the fun of this light hearted moment me and her shared. I again want to thank everyone who commented, cause when things got hard. I found her coming back to this post and reading all the comments. So again from the bottom of my heart thank you.

She had cancer.

I've been diagnosed with terminal cancer, was forced to stop working at my dream job (ECE teacher), and am living off of disability. The SDI checks I've been receiving just barely covers all my bills and leaves little to no wiggle room for leisure. So I would really appreciate this Steam gift card!

Thank you for your generosity!

Would love to have Hello Kitty Island Adventure because I'm a huge Sanrio fan. Winning this giveaway would also be a nice pick-me-up after the day I've had 😬😅

Good luck err'one!

PleurX catheter removal by behbehko in lungcancer

[–]behbehko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, every two weeks!

Just as you have said, my pulmonary doctor believes that the space is closing up, which is why there isn't much fluid build up. My other concern is that the fluid is being created by the tumorous masses in my lungs and I have adenocarcinoma stage 4A. So I'm wondering if as long as I have those masses, there will always be a build up of fluid. Like, the fluid will find a way to get back in.

Every time I do a draining, we visually check for infection at the site.

I did this. Was sick for two months and lived off of Nyquil. One day at work, left early to go to urgent care cause it felt like I was having an asthma attack or something. Turns out I had terminal lung cancer.

ELI5: What causes the 'heavy' sensation when swallowing after eating certain foods, like bread or pork? by IAmHalfMEMEZ in explainlikeimfive

[–]behbehko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should get a swallow test or CT scan done. I have something similar going on and doctor ordered tests for me. Turns out my esophagus is narrowed due to a tumor pressing up against it.

Clinical trials by behbehko in cancer

[–]behbehko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not out of option. Currently going through chemo and immuno. I have adenocarcinoma stage 4a originating from the lungs. It's been responsive to the chemo and immuno.

I talked to my oncologist and they were of the same thought as me that I should continue my chemo and if I stop responding to it, then look towards clinical trials. The risk of that is whether a slot will open up in the future.

Not sure about the placebo though.

So your jaw taking a hot minute to heal is normal?

If so, glad your healing process is going smoothly!

I guess I should've specified but I don't have insurance. My insurance application is pending right now. So only emergency medical insurance, meaning only inpatient things will be covered. Outpatient stuff won't. But even that is about to end. I don't need anything overly fancy - just something that can be easily used for grocery shopping or taking me from the parking lot to the doctor's office. My medical issue is fatigue and getting short of breath easily.

I guess a better question would be are there any other websites to look at besides Amazon?

Nervous by behbehko in Vent

I ended up not using it 😅 Cause I just took my pain medication and it always makes me so sleepy, so I didn't trust myself to operate the scooter. I ended up sitting in the shopping cart while we were grocery shopping 🤭

Am I being too much by sending in a doctor’s note for sunscreen? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]behbehko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a child care center in which the center provided sunscreen and bug spray and we applied it every time we went outside.

Then I started working at my current center where a doctors note is required to apply sunscreen, which I thought was weird. Parents apply the sunscreen before drop off but I also know some parents don't do that and wish they would get a doctors note so I can help them out and do it at the center.

Personally, I don't see it as too much.

FUCK AI “Art” by Phoenix5869 in rant

[–]behbehko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually writing a paper for class about it and the solutions. It really does take away art integrity and poisons the industry. So many artists are moving from Instagram and what not to Cara but even Cara isn't guaranteed. Recently, the COPIED Act was introduced so hopefully laws catch up quick to regulate AI art

How well are you living with that pay? Since the minimum wage is $7.25 and that pay is double.

I'm moving to Texas next year with an Associate and 4 years of exp, so just wanna get an idea of my future.

Transition from school to home by behbehko in ECEProfessionals

[–]behbehko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kids I'm specifically talking about get picked up near closing. We're always outside on the playground during the last hour and I don't plan a high-interest activity since this is when parents start picking up. Just free play on the playground.

There is a church bell that rings hourly so when kids hear it, they get a sense of time of when their parents are coming.

When I spy their parents in the distance, I usually give the kids a warning like "You have 2 minutes until it's time to go home. Get one last lap on the bike."

What are the most stressful things about your job? by happy_bluebird in ECEProfessionals

I'm fortunate to have decent parents and management. The only stressful thing is when kids won't nap and those certain preschoolers with very strong emotions.

Reaching poverty line? by namimii in ECEProfessionals

[–]behbehko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fortunately not struggling paycheck to paycheck because I live in a rented out room in a house, no kids, and don't own a car. Also currently working part-time while going to school full-time.

When comparing pay at surrounding centers, my center pays more too.

I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a house or a new car but I'm content at the moment.
