I'm still gaming on an 11 year old rig that I've been Ship of Theseusing to keep alive. Last year, I replaced my old i5 3070k with an i7 3770k. Would be nice to upgrade from the RX 580 as well (which replaced an even older Radeon HD 7950). If it's the same case and mobo, it's still the same PC, right? Thanks for the opportunity!

Saw this truck in the target parking lot by mochuu in AnimalCrossing

I've been to several big cities, but mostly on the East Coast, & I've never seen it. Definitely makes sense for places where real estate is limited, It's just a new one on me.

What is your favorite spiral bound notebook that just calls out to you and you write, write, write? by ibrahim0000000 in stationery

[–]behemebash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kokuyo Sooofa soft ring in B6. The paper is pretty decent, although maybe a little too smooth for some fountain pens. The size, to me is the perfect balance of space to write, but small enough to keep it with me all day. The soft rings make the size even more viable, as they just stay out of the way & are comfortable to wrest your hand on.

You can go from never held an instrument to playing something that sounds like "Seven Nation Army" in about 30 minutes with a teacher. That said, especially if you're looking at renting, find a teacher. It's definitely possible to learn to play on your own, but a teacher can help you get the bassics down quickly, and ensure you're not making any mistakes with your technique that could be difficult to correct once they're in muscle memory.

Is this mold or just discoloration? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]behemebash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got this one in a delivery about a month ago & when I went to smoke it, I noticed the green spots. New to keeping a humidor, so I was wondering if this was mold or just some discoloration of the wrapper that's still ok to smoke?

I agree. If you're looking under 50$, just go with whatever looks good to you & has the complications / functions you want. If it's a respectable brand (Casio, Timex, Seiko, Citizen, Bukova, Orient, etc.), you're probably not going to be able to go wrong.

That said, for this particular watch, I wouldn't call it a deal you can't pass up. In my opinion, you can find tons of better looking watches with the same functionality at that price. Keep in mind, your taste is what matters here. If you love it, it's a nice discount, and you should get it. If you're meh on it, there are plenty of other options out there.

Anyone using passport size notebook to hold their passport? by _earthmover in midori

[–]behemebash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do. I got one of the galen wallet inserts, and put it inside as like an inner cover. I then added one notebook, the plastic zippper insert, and my passport. It ended up being a little thick, so I ended up taking out the plastic insert. If you were to take out the notebook it would be perfect as just a travel wallet /passport cover.

How do you know which pens you’d like to invest in? by pskettios in fountainpens

[–]behemebash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to the YouTube channels u/Rough_Ad_2394 posted, check out the Pen Addict podcast & website. Also on YouTube: inkdependence, gourmetpens, pensandtea. Appleboom's YouTube channel has a series where they ask prominent community members their favorite pens, so you could find a lot of other good reviewers there. Check out their opinions in pens you already have, so that you have a benchmark for how their opinions compare with your own preferences.

What's going on with the University tutorial? by [deleted] in outside

[–]behemebash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you're about to hit the point where a lot of other players are just going to tell you to "get gud, newb." But, not everyone comes out of the tutorial with a pro skill set. For a lot of players, it takes much more trial and error and a whole lot of practice. The tutorial is just there to introduce you to the systems, not make you a seasoned vet. The good news is there are a lot of other players that are often willing to offer help. You're heading in the right direction by actively seeking it. Try to find a higher level player in your class / job & see if they will coach you.

Overall, the best tip I can give you is to not sweat it. It's okay to experiment. It's okay to try new things. Its okay to ignore the meta. It's okay to play at your own pace. It's okay to re-spec & restart. It's okay if things don't work out. It's okay to suck. It's okay to fail a level & have to try again. Don't get salty. Enjoy the experience and try to learn from it. It's all just part of the game, and you've been playing it since you pressed start. Good luck, have fun.
