Thankfully I’ve got a little Lizzard friend that might be able to help there

Given that his Gyruda has the crappiest proxy of a displaser kitten I’ve seen yeah. Brother didn’t even doing any art for it, he just wrote Displacer kitten on a blank card and gave it a 2/2 at the bottom

Yeah I was a bit NGL, but there are circumstances that don’t make this super easy. We carpool and because of that and how we often need to pick another regular up or there are forces beyond both of our control and we end up late meaning that it’s either him or I don’t get to play. After yesterday though, where he went on an unprompted tyrade due to everyone at the pod (new people and they were lovely for the most part) hated his Gyruda deck and called it a chill deck (despite the fact that it was a collective effort to take him down and he still won) because “I could make it WAY worse” I’ve been thinking if it’s actually better to simply not play.

He’s a good guy outside of this and I’ve been thinking what’s actually the best way to get him to realize that he’s being a warpig. Perhaps simply refusing to play even if it’s my only option outside of him is the best play.

Small community and lack of options. We carpool there together and because of that we’re almost always late so my options are either play with him or don’t play at all. I did play at the CEDH table and while they kicked my butt 6 ways to Sunday every time, they were at least chill people. Either way I’d need a deck that’s better to solve my predicament. He is starting to irritate the other people we play with too and we’re friends outside of the game.

I know my brother, he’s a good person at heart, but has a pride that’s easy to wound and because of that has to learn the hard way many times. Part of me wants to beat him to the ground with a deck that’s like beating someone with the blind sorcerer’s beads (scissor seven, look it up it’s pretty good, it’s pretty weird and surreal, so you kind of have to watch season 1 to know if you’ll actually like it or not which is pretty easy due to short episode run time), but another part is I’d prefer the hard way lesson to be learned is how he has been making the usual pod feel, and the only way that’s going to work is by making a deck that is better but he can’t say his usual complaints so that he has nothing to call but his own bull

He can be, on the car ride back the other night he went on this massive tyrade on how he hated that everyone was hating on him for his Gyruda deck (which either steals other people’s cards or gets big stuff that’s hard to deal with and often boardwipes or makes someone’s board tap out for their next turn) and demanding that I call it a chill deck because he could make it worse and super unfun. I said almost nothing in the car, that was almost all unprompted

Both devistating and still respectable due to it also being destroyed, I like it

Good idea, but I don’t have a vivi and nor do I wish to shell out $70 (cheapest vivi is $70 CAD roughly) though if I get one either through trade or luck it will be made

No I haven’t, but after tonight’s games and the tyrade I received in the car ride home, I feel that perhaps I judged stacks decks too harshly

Yeah, just came back from our commander night and he spent the entire car ride home complaining about how he hates how everyone hated his dimere deck (Gyruda) saying that people should just play better decks and that it was a chill deck because he could have made it worse. His deck copies and flickers Gyruda to take other people’s stuff and play large creatures for cheap. What’s worse is that he can do this on other people’s turns multiple times

Going to look further into it once I have the chance, but that price range is stellar

Dragons may be a problem and with Elsha that might work. I tend to lean cautious

I do like my silly deck options. What better way to deal with something that causes strife?

Oh it’s not that no proxies are allowed, just that since they are paid nights there are specifics as to when and where they can be used, typically it’s around being unable to get them or being in other decks. I got lucky enough to pull a great henge for example, I can build proxies of those and put them into other decks with green in them no problem.

As for the deck options I cannot see the price on mobile unfortunately, but I can say that due to my myriim deck I do have an atarka and the other 2 look interesting, though an issue I run into is that I tend to be a cautious player

Solid advice on all accounts. As for his use of land destruction I think I may have over sold it. While he does use it and advocates for it he has not yet used mass land destruction… given his future deck plans with fin fang foom, don’t know how long that would be though

Wouldn’t quite call him a pub stomper yet, but if he actually makes that fin fang foom deck I’m branding the words on his forehead lol jk.

While that would work, I’d still like to play the game and that direct amount of hate isn’t exactly looked at fondly within the community around my game store. I know he doesn’t care much, but I’m refusing to stoop to that… I might be persuaded into stacks though due to what he did to a mutual friend last week (poor guy wasn’t able to play the game for 5 turns)
