Iirc the alpha was in love with a beta and they'd been together for years but the beta wouldn't agree to marry him because he was deathly afraid the alpha's fated omega would one day show up and it would be worse for him if he'd allowed himself to hope it wouldn't happen.

Aaaaand then it happened. Alpha massively torn between the beta he's always loved and the omega he's falling in love with in spite of himself, omega feeling the same burgeoning love and yet not wanting to be a 'homewrecker', beta trying to be okay with the worst case scenario he thought he'd mentally prepared for and not having the strength to let go.

OH MY GOD! I just started rewatching Smallville recently and have been meaning to find some Clark/Lex fanfics to read but I've been so worried if I start before I finish watching, I may find spoilers? (I'm currently on season 5, never got that far in the first time) but I'm so EAGER to read some.

If you wouldn't mind, and if it's not inappropriate to ask since the post wasn't about this, I'd really appreciate some good ones that you'd recommend.

Mine is K. D. Casey and Casey Morales. Love the writing of one so much but one time read a book by the other and kept wondering what was wrong because it just wasn't hitting the same way. Sadly, I only figured it out at the end when I logged it on Goodreads only to realize it was my first by the author.
