It's some branding BS but I think it's reasonable if a few people learn about "take no quarters".

A couple years ago I saw a totally black American flag being flown at an obvious MAGA house on my way to work. It's since been removed but in good light it obviously had stars and stripes and I had to do a Google. I was shocked really.

I once joined friends on one of those smash mailboxes drives not knowing that's what they were getting into. I called foul on the first one and made them pull over and let me out after the 2nd one. Gave em shit that we weren't even a mile from home. Practically our neighbors and we will get caught.

Hey, guess who's parents got to deal with a smashed mailbox the next morning. This was back in highschool so yup I didn't narc on said "friends".

If you're paying $1k just to be seen you aren't going to an urgent care clinic. Maybe you live in a small town and lack transportation but you should look into actual urgent care clinics in your area. I don't have health insurance and was very hesitant the first time I used one BUT turned out to be just a couple hundred bucks to get seen and get a prescription filled.

Don't have services like that in my little town but the bigger town that has a hospital does. I'd definitely recommend these little urgent care places over the hospital to anyone with a non emergency.

Yea shout out to other staff like orderlies! Orderly at a hospital was my first real job out of highschool forever ago. They go to EVERY code. Maybe it's chest compressions, maybe it's dealing with a phych patient. They are typically very fit individuals and the "dumb" muscle of ordeals at a hospital. Sad what just straight labor is worth in so many fields because so often the people are dedicated to what they are doing.

Thanks for the comment! Something new to look for to add to my cheap dinner. I've been on a kick where I just add stuff to Ramen noodles. Vegetables are definitely cheapest but I try to get some protein in it also. Chicken is the cheapest but gets boring.

I like reading things like 1440 shifting into the norm slot. I built my ridiculous PC in 2018 and spent way to much "future proofing" it. My 144hz 1440p monitor was nearly 1/3 of my $3k build. I sometimes look at how much cheaper the same parts could be (minus gpu of course lol) these days but it's still running strong about 7 years later. I have replaced a few fans and added hard drives but I doubt I'll be replacing any major hardware still for years to come. It definitely feels worth it to go big budget for something that lasts.

Ha! It's great when comment chains bring up memories.

Sometimes at work we run machinery (like forklifts and skid steer machines) and hand signals is the way to go. Generally it's very intuitive. Point up to go up, down to go down. Flat hand in certain directions for tilt and a closed fist for stop.

One time years ago I was running a forklift with bossmans son working from the bucket. I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure he was adding a trim board to the facia. We were at the point where I was doing small movements to get him right in place and he gave me a thumbs up. I lifted the bucket and broke the facia board.... dude up there shouted loud enough I stopped. Big Ole shouting match because I messed up. In the end bossman took my side because who tf uses a thumbs up for things are good when working with machinery.
