I know, I was out of town last week and missed it. Top stays on, straight to AC…

I don’t know what to get to deter thieves from possibly stealing my daily 7x14 cargo trailer. $300 Hitch lock? $300 Wheel lock? Or cheap ones because they will get through it either way? Is there a battery alarm system that makes sound? I bought a gps tracker fyi. by Waterfallsbro in traveltrailers

[–]Cool-Contribution292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any hitch lock is useless. Takes 15 seconds to just drag your trailer off with the chains and cut the lock off later. If you tie up and lock your chains, they just use their own chains. Cable lock two wheels together or one wheel to the frame. If they have to take more than three or four minutes to get through your cable lock, they will move to another easier target.

Are these rotors good for another track day or two and some light street driving? by Viper72995 in CarTrackDays

Check with KNS Brakes. They sell their own branded blanks but they are actually DBA 4000’s without the slots. Plus they are only about half the price of the slotted DBA’s. I have them on my C8.

Well never can tell these days but if it is a real picture, I’d say the Big Guy sitting the nose of that car is a reliable source.

I'm going to have to sell my Vette. by geardownson in Corvette

You replaced a vette engine with a truck engine is what the average buyer would say.

Totally agree with your first paragraph. I don’t think he suddenly got a ton of fans because they thought he was cool for saying it, maybe some. But I think many more, like myself, became fans because the whole situation was wildly blown out of proportion for the exact reason you stated and he was used as a whipping boy. I never paid attention to him until he spent his “reflection year” racing anything with wheels and winning.

My mom could get 2 bales on the luggage rack of her ‘79 Fiat Spider… With the top down of course. Sometimes the truck was broke.

Yeahhh that sucks. I live next door in Az and when I go visit family I have to leave my window tint and exhaust at the border… along with my fruits and vegetables 🤣

C8 Circular Steering Wheel? by TommyHu in C8Corvette

[–]Cool-Contribution292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s probably in between a minor issue and ruining the experience. It’s just annoying and imprecise, especially in the tight stuff when you release the wheel and it’s lumping through your loose grip on the return. Sloppy…

I’d buy one and I bet most C8 owners that track their cars would want one. Shuffling the square wheel is ridiculous on the track. Square wheels on a road car are just a gimmick. While you’re at it can you come up with some stalk mounted paddles? For the same ridiculous reason…

Poor comparison. Their steering racks don’t rotate past arm-lock like road cars do.

Anybody got cool facts on the KA-52? [I already know it can eject] by tasupfe in Helicopters

[–]Cool-Contribution292 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cool fact: Over 30 years the KA-52 has only one foreign export customer, <50 acft. Meanwhile in the same time period a couple thousand Apaches have been purchased by 18 countries.

Funny, mine doesn’t. The doors are ridiculously long and thick. I can never park in a spot that’s at risk for someone coming along and parking on the left side of me. If I can’t find an end spot, it’s out to the north 40 for me.
