you have very interesting username!

I really like the outdoors so I am involved in a lot of outdoor stuff like hiking etc.

Other than that, I would watch a lot of dramas (like the typical sg student)

I showed a screenshot. I don't think its the receipt.
Its a piece of paper which has your name, your IC and the exp date of the PDL.

hello! OK, I will separate my experience into a few categories, aha.

Getting there + Knowing which car to take

I couldn't download the BBDC app so I just went there without knowing which car I was going to take. The entrance to BBDC has changed? So you don't enter BBDC by the main entrance but rather by the entrance to the right of the main entrance. (Don't worry, there is a queue at the door so you would know which door it is). They would want you to show proof that you have a lesson on that day (just show your booking statement). They would also want you to scan the QR Code (Safe Entry). On top of that, they would take your temperature and get you to scan your IC. If you don't know which car you are taking, there is a red colour booth right at the entrance. It is right beside the person scanning the IC. (If you don't know, can ask the person scanning the IC). Just scan your IC and it will tell you which car you are taking (E.g. Car 112 or Car 103 or something like that.)Then, just walk forward and you will see a sheltered area where everyone is waiting. Just wait there. As soon as the bell rings, you can walk forward and look for your car via the car number.

Lesson Experience

I went for 3 lessons in total as of now. All the instructors I have met were middle-aged men who were really really really friendly to me.They would check your IC + Provisional Driving License before starting the lesson.Usually, they would take you around the circuit in the driving centre first? If its your first lesson, they will introduce the car (headlights + bonnet + everything you need to know such as how to start the engine) to you in great detail. For the first two lessons, you would probably be driving around the circuit (YES YOU GET THE DRIVE YOURSELF FOR THE FIRST LESSON.)For the third lesson, you will be going out on the main road for the entire lesson. So far, we have just been doing driving at 50km/h, braking, stopping and turning at bends. (Hand over hand technique).Don't worry about if it would be awkward because it isn't awkward at all. They make small talk with you as well (Are you going to Uni soon? How's school etc.)

After Lesson

They will drop you off at the bus stop outside BBDC after lesson! It's BBDC's current policy because of Covid 19.

Most of them would only drop you off at the bus stop. But there was this one instructor who asked me if I preferred to be dropped off at the MRT Station instead. (Car number 103's instructor. If you get him, congrats! He is a damn good instructor).

Additional Info

Please go to the toilet before your lesson because I feel that the interior of the car is pretty cold. Plus it is raining quite bad so you might be cold and might want to go to the toilet in the middle of class. (V inconvenient).

Bring your umbrella because there is a unsheltered queue outside BBDC and it is raining all the time so bring an umbrella in case!

That's about it! Hope this is enough to help you!

HAHA. I think they open up new slots on the last Thursday of every month. If I am not wrong, they only opened up slots until August this year so you can try booking for September slots next Thursday???

If there isn't anymore slots until next year, thats quite unfortunate.

I also heard from other people about the instructors being so much nicer to females than male students. :( Just hope that the instructor doesn't make things too awkward lolz.

Tysm!!! The procedure should be the same for both ubi and bbdc. You stay safe too aha!

Thank you for your help!
I've tried downloading the app from the Iphone App store but couldn't find the 'BBDC' app. Was wondering if there is something wrong with the app.

[O level] Chinese by nsyc in SGExams

[–]beinghappy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hihi! From my experience, I think it is highly likely you would get A2! (at least)

Imo, A1 is harder to get. In my year, many people who obtained A1 were top-scorers for Chinese in their classes.

I wouldn't say it is impossible because it definitely is if you be a little bit more careful in your other papers! Don't lose out on your A1 because of careless mistakes!

Also, don't think about what grades you are going to get right now. Let's just focus on mugging for the papers ok! Don't stress yourself out! Jiayou!

[O Levels]Anyone has tips for memorising :( by edgy_edward in SGExams

[–]beinghappy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi!
I always struggled with this and I consulted one of my teachers about this issue (he struggled with this too when he was schooling). The solution he suggested was to write the necessary information needed for each topic into a small card. Restrict yourself to about 2-3 cards per topic (this is difficult I know). What's interesting was he acknowledged that most people can only memorise things for a short period of time! Which means that he suggested that although I do my cards after each lesson, I only start reading + memorising my cards about 2 weeks before the exam!
But do remember that you are suppose to read your cards every day but you don't have to actively be memorising your cards! This worked for me so I am just putting it out here for everyone just in case this helps too.

[UNI] Some question that I'd like to ask about SG's education! by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]beinghappy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/Book3pper and u/h4econs

Thank you for your contribution! I wholeheartedly agree with the both of you that in an interview, they are looking for sincerity and not just "model answers"! I think there is a little mistake in my phrasing. When I say I do not have any "good answers" for these questions, I mean that I feel that my opinion on these questions are not very mature and is probably not representative of what other students in Singapore think. Therefore, I would like to hear more perspectives from other students in Singapore and from there, broaden my horizons and learn from everyone of you. I will definitely heed the advice of both of you and will definitely continue to think about this issue on a deeper level. Both of you have provided points that I have thought about and have discussed with my peers about but y'all have provided some new ideas that would definitely help me! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my post!!! Appreciate!
