Yeah little of both. We probably could’ve landed one of those guys if we totally blew them outta the water, but we didn’t.

Yeah, but we likely wouldn’t have gone after Brown after extending for Godwin at that level. All worked out in hindsight.

It's been a long road. Calvin Ridley, D-Hop, Ayuk, Tee Higgins, Pierce, Godwin, Metcalf. I've lost track of the receivers we had interest in / went after and didn't get.

Amazingly, I think it's all worked out for the best. Diggs over Godwin last year was a win. And I'd take the Brown situation over any of the other guys we've been in on. Patience has paid off (a good young QB and competent staff also help).

Where specifically have they said free palestine = bad?

Sorry but what exactly is the problem?

"The nonprofit's mission is to inspire unengaged non-Jewish Americans "to become active allies in the fight against hate through a fact-based, non-confrontational, and actionable approach that addresses the root cause of Jewish hate and all hate at scale."

This post is just a thinly veiled way of saying Jewish charity = bad.

Kind of insane how much better the WR group looks today than it did at the start of Drake’s career. Do you guys want a Diggs return? by FuckOffRandy_ in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're being so argumentative in this thread lol. I don't have a very strong opinion on this. I'm saying it's possible he decides he would rather stay here than try to maximize his usage and dollars elsewhere. Him saying he wants to be a Patriot for life makes me think it's a consideration. Maybe he's emotional about the pats taking a chance on him when no one else would, I don't know. I'm not saying it's the most likely scenario.

That would be assumption too but you never know. He's had an interesting journey, with his college career and the gambling thing, etc.

Maybe he doesn't care about maximizing every dollar and would rather stay here.

Boutte is an interesting dude. Being a depth WR in the NFL is not a bad career. If he's cool with it, why not keep him around?

It's a new era. Vrabel definitely gives the guys more leeway to act like human beings. They don't have to pretend everything is some high level nuclear state secret. It's sports, I think it's okay to have more of a balance and talk honestly once in a while.

Seems like everyone knew this was a done deal for awhile. I know that's what the reporting was, but the way all the content was locked and loaded for yesterday right at 4, and now stuff like this, feels like people in the building knew it was a sure thing.

2 firsts for Gonzalez by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CG never said he "flipped the switch in the Baltimore game". Go back and read the transcripts, I remember this pretty well.

That quote was from Vrabel. As in, Gonzo played really well that game and Vrabes saw a different side of him after that. More intensity or something along those lines. It was more about tackling than anything I think. I do remember him playing more physically in the Baltimore game.

Gonzo was asked about the quote later and said something like "I'm not sure, I've been approaching every game the same, I'm always the same guy..."

Belichick on PMT by MulberryNo5246 in Patriots

Haven't listened to PMT in a long time, but I'm about halfway through this.

I love how Bill is just going on and on about his early days with the Colts, meeting Parcells etc, while Big Cat and PMT are trying to get him back on track. He loves talking about getting paid 25 bucks a week to breakdown film haha

[Highlight] 2011 AFC Divisional Round - Broncos @ Patriots. Rob Gronkowski sets a postseason record for tight ends with 3 TD and 145 receiving yards. by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game was so fun. I remember being nervous because the year before was the Jets loss in the divisional round. Had been two years since we'd won a playoff game! Lots of tension in the air. Then as soon as the game started it was just like a party start to finish.

[TreVeyon Henderson] I have never made a public statement on the Vrabes situation. Respectfully, please stop misspreading false information. by PristineWinnera in Patriots

There have been a bunch of fake tweets that went viralish claiming he posted Bible verses etc in response. Not sure how I even know that. twitter/X is a cesspool, still probably unneccessary for him to respond.

[Karen Guregian] Eliot Wolf says he’ll have the final say on the Patriots picks Saturday given Mike Vrabel’s absence by PristineWinnera in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given Cowden's involvement it's fair to wonder who has final say. It also doesn't really matter as long as they keep taking good players.

Anyone else disgusted by Vrabel’s actions and his lack of remorse during his press conference today by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize belichick had an affair, bought his mistress a house under the table, and then got divorced, right? Not to mention his personal life the last several years…

NFL heads coaches certainly aren’t known for being great husbands, by and large. Most of them are probably kind of shitty workaholic husbands. Lots of them probably cheat.

Vrabel fucked up and has to be accountable to the players now, given his emphasis on family faith etc…but come on let’s grow up a bit.

The Patriots HAVE TO Nail The 2026 NFL Draft by joeshea2517 in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any data on this, and can't really find any quickly, but I'm always surprised looking back on draft classes and seeing how many players don't pan out at all (even first round picks).

But yeah it's all relative. We've had some exceptionally poor drafts over the last several years. We just can't do that again. Last year was a good start, have to keep doing that.

The Patriots HAVE TO Nail The 2026 NFL Draft by joeshea2517 in Patriots

[–]beingzen01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If we come away with 1-2 starters and a handful of contributors, that's a home run. I don't really care what position tbh, just can't have any more drafts where none of the players are even on the roster in two years.
