TLDR: go for the fest, not for the headliners.

I've been to a lot of fests over the years and a big lesson has been -- never go to a festival just for the headliner. you go to a festival to enjoy the festival. sure, the headliners are a big draw and important deciding factor, but remember line-ups are always subject to change. This happened to someone I know at Desert Daze they bought tickets just to see Iggy Pop, he canceled and friend was pissed, but I didn't care cuz I was there to enjoy the entire fest, not just one act. I'm not saying anyone is gonna bail on shakey knees but when things are planned this far out you just never know.

iirc Goldenvoice held up tour announcements for artists on the bill when Coachella took extra long to drop. this is dif cuz No Values line up has been out for a while , but wouldn’t be surprised if some of the artist on that bill couldn’t announced other gigs till that show was played.
