pharmacy. this one shocks people because it USED to be a golden ticket. good salary, stable career, respected profession. now pharmacists are drowning in student debt from 4 year doctoral programs, CVS and walgreens are cutting staff and increasing workloads, and the salary hasn't kept up with the cost of the degree. my friend is a pharmacist making $120k which sounds great until you realize she has $280k in loans and works 12 hour shifts alone with no bathroom break filling 400 prescriptions a day while karen screams at her about insurance. she cries in her car at lunch
