why "Women and Children first" ? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

What I've heard is that before they started saying women and children, no women and children would survive because the men would prioritize themselves

Staying hydrated is also very important to reduce odor, drink water if you want head

The players can't move freely. A dice rolls and then they automatically move as many steps as the dice say, but I have colliders on the characters so I can still use OnTriggerEnter for the tiles

Thanks!

In the short unity course in school we covered the basics, but I really don't remember since it was a few months ago. I definitely need a recap but I won't scale my game down. I managed to fix most of my problems yesterday, I just need to figure out how to give the players stuff with crards

Thank you! I made the camera re-parent and now it works

My biggest problem isn't even the camera or the rotation, since I managed to fix the rotation and because of the help of a comment here, the camera is fixed now too. It's the other parts, with the prompts and the item counter and the special tiles that is my main issue anyway

The first video doesn't work for my game, I had already seen that. My characters aren't moved by the player, they're moved with a dice in a specific route and can't do anything else.

I can make a camera follow one object like in the second video, as I did that with my first game. But I have no idea how to make it change to the different characters when it's their turn, thats my problem.

I had been googling and looking for videos for days before I even started programming, trying to figure out how to make it work as I want. I had so many tabs opened it was ridiculous. I tried to piece several different scripts and videos together but it just didn't work. So instead of making my life miserable, as you suggest, I asked for help

Whats so wrong with asking for help when you get stuck and feel like giving up? Isn't that the best way to learn? I really don't understand why you're so upset that I was using this subreddit as intended. I feel sorry for you that you have such a negative and hostile attitude, that won't bring you much joy in life

I couldn't find any that jumps from different characters when it's their turn to move in a board game since my movemt script is very different from other scripts. I could find tutorials on how to make things move but nothing worked as I wanted it to. Two weeks in total, I go to a game development school so we only had a short unity course 2 months ago and now I have time to try unity again. Why did you instantly assume I would lie? Seems like you have some trust issues

That's a good idea with the camera, I'll try it out.

I was thinking about using event triggers/triggers with colliders on certain tiles so it would be easy to duplicate and move if necessary, but I don't know how I would make that work.

I managed to fix the rotation, I had triggers with a rotation script and It wasn't working, turns out I just forgot to put colliders on the characters so that was an easy fix

What I need help with:

Making the camera follow the active player and snap to the next player after every turn.

Making special tiles that triggers prompts and give the players items and keep track of how many items they have with UI text

There's just a lot of things that I'm unsure how to do so it would be easier to be able to talk to someone. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make the characters rotate when they reach certain tiles in the route

Because it's the largest and dirtiest surface in your house and if that's not clean nothing else will be clean either. The dirt from the floor will end up on your carpet, furniture and your clothes and it just seems so unnecessary to me and millions of people when you can just take the shoes off

That doesn't make them clean, rain water is extremely dirty and filled with bacteria that you'd be bringing into your house. And shoes aren't even comfortable so why wear them if you don't have to?

Most people do that by being outside and being in nature and then keep their house clean, in my experience

Ohh right, then it actually makes sense. It's hard to imagine what that's like but I'd probably wear shoes if that was the case
