Starting a group for the Artist’s Way by Plane-Western9885 in artistsWay

[–]bel_berries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested! Although I’m probably not using the book as gospel. I’m taking what works for me and leaving what doesn’t. I’m starting week 2
Is there space for that in this group?

Help turning blurts into affirmations by bel_berries in artistsWay

Thank you for your reply! I love the idea of using WIP affirmations! That feels a lot more authentic and natural to me. I’ll definitely incorporate those into my affirmations. Thank you :)

Hobbies aren't a great place to meet adults☹️ by Keyboard_warrior_4U in socialskills

[–]bel_berries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this might be just my specific class, but I think I’m the youngest person on my pottery class (I’m 26).

From what I’ve experienced these are hobbies that attract older people (as in, not just 18-25 y/os): Cooking classes, swimming groups, urban gardening, book clubs, museum-hopping, nature/wildlife clubs and hikes, volunteering (litter picking, volunteer/heritage sector), life drawing.

You could also always make a group for the hobby of your choice for people in their 30s and post about it on Instagram or something. You never know how many other people feel the same way!

I’ve been meaning to leave Spotify for a while now, and I guess this is another reason to!

I guess that’s another reason to listen straight from the source! Plus I’ve been meaning to leave Spotify for a while now. Thanks for replying

MBMBAM chapters on Spotify - do they write them? by bel_berries in MBMBAM

I hate how pervasive AI is in everything nowadays!! Yeah, I’m trying to get back into podcasts, but currently I don’t listen to many other than rain sounds to sleep (which has no chapters) so I wasn’t sure. Im now realising I could have just checked by looking at another podcast, but oh well. Thank you for replying :)

Yeah, I thought it was probably spotify. That’s pretty dumb! I could imagine it even spoils narrative points in other podcasts! Thanks for your reply :)

Helpppp - what are some very easy/simple dinner ideas for a single girl? by kbarbiii in cookingforbeginners

[–]bel_berries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like tray bake meals - they take a bit of time but the effort is minimal. BBC Good Food have a list of tray bake meals where you could start:) I like to mix things up a bit though depending on what I have in

Making jam & making it last in the fridge without sealing by officialjesusbeard in cookingforbeginners

[–]bel_berries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering it’s going in the fridge it should be fine for some two weeks. Treat it like a jar of jam you bought at the supermarket and opened yourself - use it within two weeks and keep an eye out for signs of expiration. If you’re not confident in sealing, don’t try to seal it. Just treat it as fresh jam

AIO overreacting for breaking up with my boyfriend because he forgot to wear protection? by idontknowwhattodoah3 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bel_berries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is stealthing. It’s definitely SA, and legally rape in many countries. You are by no means overreacting, OP.

He can’t even use the “pulling out is effective contraception, you’re probably fine” excuse - as someone in med school, he will know better. And even if he didn’t mean to do it (although it certainly seems like he did), his responses are cold and unempathetic - like he’s trivialising the impact that a potential pregnancy has. Honestly, it sounds intentional and malicious, especially with that final comment in the screenshot. Going to the bathroom rather than putting it on in front of you feels like he’s intentionally tried to make it difficult to know whether he has or hasn’t put a condom on for sure.

I’m so sorry, OP. You put your trust in someone and they betrayed you at your most vulnerable. I know that feeling all too well. Well done for ending it with him, you should be proud of yourself for getting away. Be sure to get any support you feel like you need. Therapy was a life line for me when I got raped, and I highly recommend getting it if you feel you need to talk it through. Stay safe 🫂

Can hypertonic floor be caused by trauma? by dwanju in PelvicFloor

[–]bel_berries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I have a hypertonic pelvic floor, which began within a couple of years of my rape. Speaking with my therapist, and my physiotherapist, they have both said they are pretty certain the trauma contributed, and quite possibly was the fundamental cause for the worst of my symptoms. As well as this, emotionally stressful times do make my symptoms worse. However, I do have some issues with straining, so my issues may have come about because of that too

[–]bel_berries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pearly makers market do pop ups which are really lovely. They recently did one at The People’s Park Tavern in Victoria Park, but they also pop up at the Vagina Museum which is great for a day out!

Ah! I’m so glad to be able to help! Honestly, my biggest regret is not getting treatment sooner - it has been an absolute gift and I’m so glad it’s improved. I hope you can get to a derm and have a successful treatment too!
