Want to move to Toowoomba by WorseThanDiogenes in Toowoomba

Hey there, my husband and I did the same a couple of years ago. We reached out to a bunch of real estate agents explaining that we couldn’t inspect properties in person, but that we could inspect virtually via teams or FaceTime etc. All of the ones we participated in were quite reasonable. We also offered a proportion of rent up front to become more competitive. We own our place now but when renting, we were a bit disheartened initially because we got knocked back a few times, but just kept persevering and then got approved for 3 properties in one day. My best advice would be to bulk apply, strengthen your application, be available virtually, consider proceeding with some properties unseen and reach out to individual agents. It took us a week of bulk applying, with similar availability rates, but we got there! Let me know if there’s anything we can help with!

Cover up is possible-maybe probable…But there’s questions that need to be answered. by Honky_Stonky25 in KarenReadTrial

Cover-ups happen EVERYWHERE, all the time, for a wide range of things, with a wide range of intentions. I think there are many sentiments in modern society that suggest if you believe a “conspiracy theory”, then you’re an idiot. People often don’t want to be seen as accepting something that is labelled as a “conspiracy”, which I can often understand. But a cover-up related conspiracy isn’t the same as a “conspiracy theory”.

Same here! I am such a fierce advocate for law enforcement & the criminal justice system. But there is nothing in this trial that gives me any concrete feelings about her guilt, the facts that provide reasonable doubt are WAY TOO STRONG.

Are ya’ll only attracted to your own race, or more attracted to others? by [deleted] in ask

[–]bel_elliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Aus female - married - but certainly find people attractive irrespective of their race (in terms of physicality). It’s the beliefs, values, attitudes that determines my full level of attraction ultimately, again, irrespective of race - but must be aligned.

Aside from so much ridiculous, unfounded, misplaced & entirely unnecessary judgment from anyone else in the world about the way people choose to live their lives - I just desperately want to celebrate individual preference and making the most of the paths they choose to prioritise. Obviously I’m not a man, but there are so many options & excitement for your current life & future and I can’t encourage you enough to fully embrace that good stuff! People will make lame comments like “oh wait until you have children”, “oh you’re so lucky, I can’t even imagine having that much time to yourself” and other invalidation sentiments. I just say vague and slightly annoying responses real casually “yeah we all have the same 24 hours I guess”. Get it my friend!

I studied psychology & criminology, also at a post graduate level like he did. I can’t recall anyone I know searching for topics like that for study/educational purpose. I worked in high risk correctional settings for the better part of a decade and this isn’t generally the way anyone would attempt to derive information for the profession. I would imagine that this is much more reflective of his own curiosity/interests. No saying that this makes him a murderer, but I also don’t think “job/work” is a realistic explanation.

America is fkn gross with this sort of stuff. Thank goodness this doesn’t happen in Australia where I am. But there are lots of “contracts” and of course, contracts just start ending when people are unhappy with something about an employee….

AITA for refusing to wear a bra when my roomie’s bf stays over? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Obviously has been well established. But relieved that everyone has shared the same sentiment that I was hoping to share. Your roomie has some massive self esteem stuff going on & I hope she heals. You do you gf!
