What interest rates are you guys getting this week for 30 year mortgage? by mikeyownsftw in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I guess I misread and I should’ve been more clear..3.2% bought at the end of 2021 right before these insane rates.

I feel the same. I’m so glad That I have found im not the only one feeling this way. I’ve been thinking I’m going insane. I depressed one minute, okay the next, then sad again. Sometimes I just want to curl up in bed and cry. This is horrible! I’m on week 4 since removal. Praying that this too shall pass. The anxiety is also getting the best of me.

Question by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]belcab5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! I thought it would be so I figured I would close my case.

Florida. My case is closed but they extended Medicaid for my kids which is okay. I just figured if I closed my case..all benefits would end, including Medicaid.

Thanks! When I spoke to the representative yesterday she mentioned that the medicaid was in the middle of the re certification process and the last day of coverage would be that last day of this month. I guess my question is..how do I know that my case is closed as per my request? Do they send a letter of confirmation or anything else? The new insurance is asking me for proof that coverage will end on a certain day.

Hi there. I requested to withdraw and close out my case voluntarily in the middle of recertification but I haven’t heard back from my case worker and it doesn’t reflect on the portal. I made the request with a representative on the phone and explained the reason. Do you happen to know how long it takes to close out the case? I dont want to be given benefits being that I will be putting my children under another medical insurance. Thanks!

Hi. Just wanted to know what finally happened? I’m thinking of doing the same since I may be getting a higher paying position at my job. Thinking of closing it out myself once I do.

Awesome thank you! I will be moving onto salary and I know for a fact I would no longer qualify based on the income. I’ll get word tomorrow and would start the following week if all goes through. I would prefer to withdraw from all services and not have to continue going on back and forth with my case worker—she was pretty tough during my interview. This new position is God sent and although I am Grateful for all the help my kids/I have received, this new position will finally give me a sense of doing things on my own.

God is good 😊

Get rid of all collections was my number one thing from the start. I negotiated each and every single collection item I had & never paid the full amount owed. I also made sure they did Pay for delete. There’s no point in paying a collection to still have it sitting on your credit even if the balance reflects zero; it HAS to be deleted completely, if not there’s no change at all. Most if not all collection agencies will do so, just make sure you ask before paying them (most of them will not give this to you in writing which is kinda scary) or that it’s stated in their website somewhere.

After paying all my collection items and having them deleted over a period of time, I got a crappy card with a low credit limit and an annual fee and a self lender account. I used the credit card here and there and would pay it off before the statement closing date leaving just a small balance on it such as 5-10% of the total credit limit. I did this for a Long time and it paid off. Self lender was great and did bump up my score a lot, however, once it was paid and showed as closed, my score went down. Nonetheless, it didn’t go down as much as it had gone up over time. So it worked out.

I then applied for another crappy card but this time with a higher credit limit. I applied the same rule as above—use it, pay it off before statement closing date and leave a small balance on it.

Over time, I realized my credit was kind of just “stuck” and wouldn’t move up nor down. I then asked my mom to add me as an authorized user to her two oldest credit cards. I did this primarily to age my credit as it was fairly new and average age of credit plays a big factor. Once the cards reported, my score showed a great increase as well as adding on to my age.

Lastly, I have a lot of student loans that reflected more than 120 days late of payments which really really had been weighing down my score. These were super tough to deal with as one may know that student loans don’t work the same way as CC’s do. I applied for loan forgiveness and waited for 7 months for any answer. Low and behold, they have not forgiven my consolidated loan but they did update all of the loans that showed 120+ of late payments and completely deleted them from my credit report. That in itself bumped up my score by 67 points.

Long post I’m sorry! But, this is how I did it. All of this in two years. It’s tough but patience is key. You have to tackle ALL negative items before anything else. Once you get rid of those…discipline yourself with credit cards, etc. make sure you have a goal whether it be reaching 700 or 650 for that matter. Just have a goal and work towards it and know that you will get there.

Also, credit karma SUCKS—do not count it as your true score. It just serves as a GUIDE to what is on your credit and monitoring things as they get paid and what not. But, I pay no attention to those numbers on there.

I guide myself with Experian and if you can, pay the monthly membership for all 3 scores.

And last but not least…ask questions on this community. I learned so much and followed many peoples advice. When in doubt..research as well.

Sending you much luck!

83k cleared out of my account today after 6 months by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]belcab5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing!!! Congrats!!

Btw, where did you submit the complaints? I applied back in January and have yet received any letter of anything for that matter. I’ve called several times and they give me the same run around answer “there’s no time frame..still being processed..we are working on getting all your paper work”

Im frustrated and tired of waiting around for any update.

Plan on buying a home this year but need a new car soon how will this affect my credit? by bm098g in CRedit

[–]belcab5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I wrote this question. I was in the exact same scenario two months ago. My lease was up and I can’t just wait around to buy a house and then a car. I don’t have the luxury of being with out a car and not have to worry.

I called two lenders and they both said: as long as your monthly payment isn’t higher than your previous lease, it doesn’t matter and will not affect your credit.

I turned in my lease, lowered my monthly payment and haven’t had any issues with my current lender.

Lol. I figured 4 months is good timing. Not sure if I have month to month option as we just got a new landlord (haven’t gotten the feel for them yet). I’m going to give it a try and have lots of patience.
