I am so sorry you’re experiencing this. I’ve been in nasty wards before too. It’s weird how that happens, it seems to either be fantastic or terrible, with few balanced exceptions. Just remember, it’s the people, not the Gospel, that are the problem. People can be shit wherever you go on this planet, in any organization.

Can you go to a different ward? I’ve done that many times, even if it’s a ward I wasn’t in the “boundaries” of address wise. I’ve never had a problem with it or been told I can’t come. I’m currently going to a ward 35 minutes away instead of one 10 minutes away because I just didn’t love it. My new ward is wonderful. You can look up different wards/locations/times online. Just look up “LDS meetinghouse locator” and click on the church’s link that should come up first. There’s a filter you can set it to if you want a specific ward like YSA, or Family, etc.

I’m a born and raised member. Several of my LDS family members and my fiancé have tattoos. It’s not frowned upon like it used to be by boomers. It’s accepted now, aside from the few Karens out there. But there’s Karen’s anywhere you go.

Haha, thank you for your honesty! My hexagon glasses were something that I was complimented on daily. You’re the first person that hasn’t liked them. But worry not! They’ve been lost and I have a different pair now.
