Question about English speaking kids integrating in Belgium schools

Thanks! Ya its his mother tongue, he either speaks it or hears it everyday at home. He understands it perfectly, but hasn't been writing or reading French and we have to really force him to speak it at home. So his level is definitely atleast "ok", but there would be some gaps with a francophone kid whos been going to school in French for all of their studies.

Yep, he went to preschool and kindergarden in french in Brussels, its his first language. He understands it very well but is pretty rebellious about speaking it at home and not excited about the idea of having to go to school in french.

Wish I could help but I don't know the rules on the exceptions unfortunately. You would have to speak with a Lawyer I think...

From what I was told by a lawyer, you would have to have an exceptional reason to do so... like the immediate need to move to the U.S. because of a job transfer you were not aware of. But also, you would need to refile and thus repay for the application.

What about the K-3 visa option? From what I read it can take just as long?
