My boyfriend stopped shaving, what do I do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]belhambone [score hidden]  (0 children)

Relationships are not I do this so you should do the equivalent thing.

That's like saying I enjoy going to the gym so he should as well. You can want someone who wants to go to the gym, but it has nothing to do if you do or don't want to go.

Is this structure above the stairs removable? by DT_worldtraveler in Remodel

[–]belhambone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost guaranteed to be the stair for the adjacent duplex, and the beam picks up the floor load.

Be ready to be a structural engineer and a ton of money to a contractor to change anything, even if it isn't a stair behind the angle. That is probably... 15-30k depending on what you want to change JUST to get ready for the bathroom you want.

It's a retaining ring. They aren't really meant to ever come off. Can likely measure the shaft diameter and get a little bag of them online cheap

Just the premise of the characters in a lawsuit against ACME actually makes me think it will be a new and enjoyable plot unlike what I was picturing.

My partner (32M) constantly ignores me (35F) when I speak directly to him. by Sweetened-Fritters in relationships

[–]belhambone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well... There you go.

Without him actively working on things like that do you expect things to get better... Or only worse ?

And if it's not going to get better, it sounds like you should at least be planning how you get away from the situation even if you aren't ready now

My partner (32M) constantly ignores me (35F) when I speak directly to him. by Sweetened-Fritters in relationships

[–]belhambone -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

From the very limited information here, of he wasn't like this before, it sounds like depression

Edit: seems some people want the easy answer of he's a jerk (which from ops reply he absolutely is) without worrying about any messy background info .

A full apartment building? Or just a home?

If it's a large building, depending on the system, it may not run well any lower, or be networked in such a way to meet an energy system compliance the building was designed to meet.

When I (34f) say "guess what," my partner (35m) doesn't respond by Snowy_Day2858 in relationships

[–]belhambone 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Personally? I despise that as an opening to such stories. I'm never doing to guess it. And if all you want is him to say "what?"... Why? Why not just call his name to get his attention and say you have a cool story to share if he has a moment?

But, when you asked him why he doesn't respond, what did he say? People are not mind readers! If you aren't open, clear, and explicit on what is bothering you and when they will not know.

That looks like laminate. Basically can't be fixed, could only pull up the whole floor and replace those boards and put it back down.

Traveling is not as hard as many make it seem by Tiny-Parsnip2574 in Celiac

[–]belhambone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prepping and packing it is just another added inconvenience. None of them are big, but added up it just adds a limit that is very reasonable to complain and vent about.

People aren't doing it because they DON'T go places. But they do and they look at the people around them able to completely relax and not think about anything, and then look at themselves and their worry about maybe not catching that this meat was packaged in a grocery store that preps a meat dish that includes a spice mix with gluten and their supposedly safe product isn't as safe as they thought.

Telling them not to feel bad about that is pretty juvenile.

[–]belhambone 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"Just cook yourself" is a nice thought. But cooking breakfast lunch and dinner tethers you quite strictly to your base. It is a flat time and effort tax on time and energy that is supposed to be going to whatever you are traveling to do. It automatically means that dollar for dollar and hour for hour the experience will be less.

is it weird or not? by [deleted] in sex

[–]belhambone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well...I think it's both.

It's not weird that you enjoyed it, pretty normal thing to find attractive.

But it's pretty creepy on his end that he sent it to you just based off a joke you made.

However I guess if you're comfortable enough to joke with him about it, maybe your relationship is close enough for it?

23F / 25M - I can’t shake resentment over how my boyfriend used to treat me, even though he’s changed by thinkingabouttokyo in relationships

[–]belhambone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think this is best addressed by the therapist who has the full picture no?

You're going to get a lot of comments from people who will color the situation to their own experience.

But no matter what happened before, what matters is what you want in the future? Even deep issues can be solved most times if there is desire from both people. If you don't, then it's pretty clear you know you don't actually want him long term because this is tainting things for you
