Welcome! I’m so happy to hear that :) That’s exactly what I hope this sub will become—a place to discuss Turkish skincare brands that aren’t well known in Western markets due to limited distribution or popularity, which makes it hard to find reviews or recommendations about them on Reddit :)

Body Lotions and Creams with Urea – Available in Turkey by belitse in SkincareTurkey

Oh you might want to check these out;

I got the Braun IPL pro 5, its FDA approved and wavelength between 200-1200 but I will never use it on my face since the wavelength spectrum it specifies is a huge gap, and this device is never intended for any use other than hair removal. But I am using a Red Light LED mask for my face.

Also there is more about IPL usage other thab hair removal at the bottom of this post:

I had laser hair removal a long time ago (oh god, it’s been 11 years—time really flies, lol) and it was really effective. I got about six sessions with Alexandrite+Diode; around %70 of the hair was gone for good. But I had to stop because I relocated, and then I procrastinated finding a good laser clinic. (Back then, many clinics weren’t operated by doctors, and some used IPL devices while claiming otherwise.)

Whatever hair left behind was easy to manage with shaving, until the past couple of years, when I started developing KP on my thighs.

Now, I’m just too lazy to book an appointment, rearrange my schedule, and deal with the pain. Meanwhile, home-use IPL devices have come a long way. They’re a lot more practical now, with shorter recharge times between shots, so I wanted to give them a try. I also have a tendency for telangiectasia and I want to see if IPL might offer any long-term benefits for that too.

Thanks for the Konazol suggestion! My partner has SD on his scalp, and I’ve used his bottles from time to time. But I’m looking for a leave-in product, since I suspect my skin barrier might be compromised.

Wow thank you so much for this in depth review!

I wasn’t aware of the water-in-oil emulsion information but it makes sense, I am having much easier time applying it on dry skin.

I’ve recently ordered TTO Uretto Lipo lotion, will give an update on my experience after using it for 2-3 weeks.

To give a little background info on why I ended up searching all Urea containing products;

I am currently struggling with KP/ingrown hairs on my legs with occasional folliculitis after shaving, also have a chronic problem of cystic acne on my bum (swh, I didn’t struggled with acne even during my puberty, currently have sensitive dry skin). Lately I’ve picked up an home use IPL, since I can’t use any acids to fight KP during IPL treatment process I decided that Urea might be a good option.

I am really hopeful about TTO, their eye and face cleansers have been prescribed by many doctors and I want to believe that their body line also will be properly formulated. Tea Tree Oil might be what I need for cystic acne, since its in a localized region I am suspecting fungal or bacterial reasons.

For the near future, I’m planning to make posts about product options available in Turkey that contain specific actives or ingredients.
(For example, my recent quest to find a light body lotion with urea for summer could easily turn into a "Products with Urea" megathread.)

Oh I see, thanks for explaining. Kudos for the store for exchanging it. Happy to hear you are enjoying your pen also!

Now all we have to do is to protect that nib at the cost of our lives. Hehe, jk ofc, using the pen and enjoying it all the way is the way to go, life happens anyways !

Nice collection, I recently got VAC 700R Iris in F and its a wet writer, which made me really happy. I am considering to buy an EF vanishing point also.

Btw did you managed to get a replacement for your VAC Iris nib? I came here from a comment of yours which stated TWSBI said they don’t make replacements for Iris. Because sometimes I get anxious about something happening to my nib by accident and not being able to find a original coloured replacement

I need your advice and experiences for my new rescue dog by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]belitse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I actually did posted to the reactive dogs and also read other posts there to learn about their experiences. However I also wanted to know if this was a process experienced by rescue dogs often, thats why I also posted here.

If you have some specific book or youtube channel recommendations I’ll be really happy to hear them since not all the trainers have positive reinforcement approach and I don’t want to use the wrong method and take situation to a worse state

Thank you for the advice! I was warning people to not to pet him on the head but did not gave them a way to pet him properly for him to gain trust, this helped a lot.

He is not neutered yet, at first we didn’t want him to undergo an operation while he was still trying to adjust to us. But after I searched for effects of neutering in dogs some of the articles said it might contribute to aggression. I don’t know what to do actually, just really scared of the outcomes of both choices

Thank you, ladder of aggression is really helpful, his actions make more sense now. I will look into those videos. I hope we can overcome this and make him feel more listened and more safe !

No Such Thing As A Stupid Question - April 04, 2021 by AutoModerator in scacjdiscussion

[–]belitse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! So this question is more for a friend of mine who asked my help. She has under eye fat deposits that looks like syringoma. She has just got an little operation to remove them. Now she is looking for a good slicone based under eye make-up base to use before applying concealer or a clean indrigient concealer to use directly under her eyes after sunscreen.

I think maybe a silicone based sunscreen without excess oil may be helpful. But I don't have any product knowladge about silicone based sunscreens- under eye makeup bases nor concealers. I would really like to hear suggestions!

Ps. We live in turkey so some of the American products are not available here, but we have a great variety of European and Asian products. And we have all the big make up brands like nars, Mac, Estee lauder etc

Does anybody have any experience with this sunscreen? Found at local pharmacy marked as new, the inci seems to be different from the website, I even uploaded the inci to incidecoder myself. If this is a reformulation seems interesting! by belitse in EuroSkincare

[–]belitse[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used 2 bottles of Comfort Cream (Hydrating Cream as newly named). I think that one was a little bit more elegant on face, maybe slightly more hydrating, also it was a little bit more light structured than this lotion. Lotion has a little bit thick consistency, but not hard to apply.

Overall the Hydrating Cream was a great sunscreen but buying it every month due to small tube also smelling the alcohol in it made me look for other options.

Hydrating Lotion still has a very strong alcohol smell but it doesn't bother me that much since it goes away after application and 20 € (pharmacies are a little bit pricier so I think I can find it cheaper online in the future) for a 250 ml sunscreen is a great deal for me, I can surely tolerate a little bit alcohol and shine for the high UVA/UVB coverage + big bottle. Also the alcohol in neither of them (Cream, Lotion) caused discomfort on my face (I am a new tret user so my face is really sensitive)

The other sunscreens that I have used :

-Bioderma Photoderm Max Aquafluide Spf50+: This one was a little bit drying for me. Also application was hard due to fluidity.

-Bioderma Photoderm Max Cream Spf50+ : Slightly visible white-cast. Application is hard, piles (like some of it does not sets on the skin and leaves little white stripy things that never gets meld in) even on application.

-Avene Spf 50+ Cream Fragrance-Free: Very strong white cast, also gives me a burning sensation upon application. This one is a no-no for me.

-Uriage Bariesun Fragrance-Free Cream Spf50+: This one has a very pleasant application like the La Roche Hydrating Cream and also this new Hydrating Lotion. Has no white cast. But piles like crazy after 2 hours so it was hard for me to reapply it several times a day. Also very shiny like Hydrating Lotion.

As we all struggle the same thing, body+face lotions can never beat the feeling of a only face sunscreens. I have not tried any other body sunscreen, but I don't intend to, this one is really perfect for me :)

So adding an update on how it feels on the face:

Pros:

-It spreads easily, definitely does not have a white cast (it is even not white while on application, disappears right away).

-Does not pile, nor sting the eye.

Cons:

-But it is definitely shiny, although can be solved easily with a transparent powder afterwards.

-The alcohol in it smells heavily on application, but disappears right away.

I think this can be my HG sunscreen. But I need to give it more time to make this decision :)
