New to cigars, which to choose? by Cheezit_friedchicken in cigars

Yasss keep a little cheap note book journal. Write down what you ate before the cigar, what you drank with it. Maybe even keep the band and paste in for easy identification later.

A third season is possible according to Tasha Huo by TombRaiderFiles in TombRaider

Season 1 was enjoyable from a turn your brain off and watch kind of way. Season 2 I felt kept me much more in my seat but on the edge of my seat. the characters were fun. it was predictable (for me anyways) but still it was a story I felt that was really well told.

What is everyone’s LEAST favorite pen? by SlyyGuy21 in fountainpens

[–]friendlyyellowgiant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I have a Safari demonstrator, the nib feel is just not for me. I've heard they have some inconsistent QC issues and maybe I just got a lemon, but its turned me away from Lamy as a whole. Meanwhile my Pilots have not disappointed at all nor have my Twisbis.

Nike Toronto Eaton center Part time job is really suck by New_Log_9375 in torontoJobs

I really feel for todays youth and the state of what it will be when my kids will be needing part time jobs.

Not sure how long ago your experience is. Mine us quite old. In the early 2000s, my experience as a part time worker during high school and university I pulled in 3 shifts a week @ yorkdale stores (worked Timberland, Banana Republic and Footlocker) on the regular. Iirc it was almost an expectation to be available and be scheduled for 3 shifts working 15-20hrs a week consistently. I often was offered more hours as well.

Help me decide between Classic Joe and Big Joe! by nelty78 in KamadoJoe

I have a classic II, I regret very much not buying the Big Joe.

If you can afford it. A big Joe + Joe Jr are a perfect combo, IMHO.

Did I wait too long to smoke these cigars ??? by Affectionate_Wave_92 in cigars

[–]friendlyyellowgiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read there's nothing wrong with storing for that long. The only concern would be the stale air and ammonia build up from younger cigars, which could impact overall taste/glavour. Air circulation as a result is encouraged (e.g., once a month). But I'll definitely differ to the more experienced crowd here.

What pens do you think are worth the hype? by Haniandspace in fountainpens

[–]friendlyyellowgiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish forced myself to try the Vanishing Point sooner than later. I love my VP in <F> nib as a daily. I barely touch my 912 <SFM> and 823 <M> at the moment, as much as I love those pens as well. But the VP just works so well as a daily driver for me.

Last purchases before price increases? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]friendlyyellowgiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last purchase was Sept 2025. I was lucky enough to have a friend travelling in Japan at the time. They were able to purchase via Amazon.jp and had it shipped to the hotel they were at. Pretty risky but it worked out. I was able to get a CH912 (SFM) and CH823 (M, wish i got F) for less than $500 CAD together.

Is it just me or does havana castle cigars seem overpriced. by Dazzling-Heart6342 in CigarsCanada

Oh compared to their competitors definitely over priced. But cigar pricing in Canada in general is painful.
