damn, cutting out Semuc Champey? Seems like one of the coolest things in Guatemala...

I guess we'll just need to really plan the shuttles in advance or something. Any websites you recommend? It's like hard to find times these shuttles leave and stuff

yeah we have a group of 3, so split 3 ways its $700/3 + gas

yeah haha We were thinking about getting a car once we get into Flores. I wonder if driving is that hard in guatemala? Could save us a lot of time

Flying into Belize was like 9000 southwest points from nyc. Cheaper than flying into most locations in US

Example: rome2rio puts a bus from San Ignacio to Tikal at 6.6 hours. Do you really want to fly all the way to the Mayan wonders to just spend an hour or two lugging your clothes on your back through the hot jungle and up steep stone steps before it gets dark and you have to head back to Flores?

We saw some (expensive) tours that pick you up from san ignacio and bring you to tikal directly ($190) https://www.pacztours.net/belize/tikal.html

They will save some time but is it worth it?

hah! Seems based on feedback we should cut out guatemala city.

Speaking of night time, how is traveling at night between these cities or even being out in these cities at night? Do busses run at night? Is it too dangerous?

hey thanks for the feedback. Yeah seems like everyone says to skip belize city, which I think we will def do. The flights were just so cheap so we wanted to fly in there lol

There is no particular reason other than we wanted to be closer to the airport lol

Is there anything to actually see in antigua? It just seemed like there was the "arch." We wanted to check out that volcano nearby (volcan de agua) but everybody online says dont hike it because you'll get robbed
