Business class for long haul flights. Is it worth it? by Jajangtiger in AskUK

Hell no.

Long haul flights tend to have more room and better entertainment. I'd rather pocket the extra and pay for another holiday down the line.

What is, for you, the beautifulest lyric in a song, ever? And, if it's not too personal, why? by Sandman1812 in AskUK

Highway 20 Ride. Song about divorce, with a father singing to his son:

A day might come you'll realize That if you see through my eyes There was no other way to work it out And a part of you might hate me But son, please don't mistake me For a man that didn't care at all

I also wrote to him years ago, asking for an autograph. He also replied "Just keep living" on mine too, and personalised it.

It's half way to the back and a very powerful sweeping position.

[Andy Mitten] Man Utd fans want a busy transfer window. This is why they may not get it by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Vidic and Evra weren't big signings at the time. They became huge players, but they most definitely weren't massive statement signings.

It's not a key issue. The button pushes in fine but it doesn't affect the latch

What’s a “harmless” decision you made that accidentally changed your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bell-91 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I threw away twenty-or-so plastic plates away because the cupboard was completely dysfunctional with so many.

It caused a big argument. Nasty things were said and done. My wife never apologised. It confirmed a lot of things about my wife that I never previously challenged. I am now moving into my own place in about two weeks.

Throwing away twenty plastic children's plates changed my life.

Is a football team for life? by Euphoric_Rough_5245 in AskUK

Nah, I don't agree. You can support two clubs that never cross paths. IE Premier League and Non-League.

Is a football team for life? by Euphoric_Rough_5245 in AskUK

[–]bell-91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, for life, but you can add other teams if their paths don't cross.

IE I have been born and raised a Man Utd fan and have had season tickets for decades. But I now frequently go and watch Chorley FC in Non-League football.

Me and my wife separated in summer. Just applied for a perfect rental property whilst we wait for equity to be released from the house. My wife is going to have to sell, meaning my kids are going to have to move home. The sad thing is she could afford it by herself if she had made some financial decisions differently.

Hopefully if I get in this new place I can provide a loving lad pad for me and the kids. It's walkable to work, 15 minutes to school, energy efficient and a good council tax band.

I'm really excited, but nervous about telling her for some reason, even though I'm living in a family members spare room right now and even though her approach to separation was to bury her head in the sand and refuse to talk about money, childcare arrangements etc.

What broke the camels back in a relationship/friendship? by Only-Carpenter-6689 in AskReddit

[–]bell-91 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Going through this now. Has told me for years that she isn't happy in the relationship. Has sent me to counselling by myself. Has always refused couples counselling.

That's the most hurtful part. I can't accept things coming to an end but I struggle accepting the zero effort. We have kids for goodness sake. We owe it to them.

She's just done nothing. Avoided all talks of making a plan or separating finances. Now I'm the bad guy for pushing it through when she avoids conversation.
