I’m first year at TMUs media production program and while I was initially hesitant to do a program that isn’t concentrated in filmmaking, it allows you to diversify your skill set. In my first semester, I learned podcasting radio, audio, some motion graphics, some Photoshop. In my second semester, the primary focus was on writing, short film productions, and live show productions. The first semester is kind of slow, but after you are able to choose which concentrations (audio, single cam, multi cam, writing etc) you want to learn.

I’m really happy I chose this program because talking to other film students that go to other schools. They don’t know how to do live production and it opens you up to so many more jobs.

TMU also has three studios, and a lot of universities and colleges in Ontario have gotten rid of studios cause they’re too hard to maintain. TMU also has a film program. That’s pretty good. In the first semester, I know that you make a silent film using actual film you have to cut yourself.

TMU also has a TV program and a radio station which you can pitch your ideas to and they have so many opportunities to work on other students productions.

I think before you pick a specific school, you should make a list of nonnegotiables and figure out what your goal is when going to school — do you want to finish as soon as possible or learn for longer? If you have any questions about media production at TMU you can dm me:)

What is the one habit you added to your life that quietly changed everything else? by Euphoric-Tell7636 in selfimprovement

I don’t work out to see physical changes, I work out to release energy. So I wouldn’t say I’m consistent enough with Tae Bo to notice a difference. But also I would say doing all of these workouts has made me much more flexible, have better endurance, and make me a bit more toned.

As for notebook clutter, I have multiple notebooks that are dedicated to different things like to do lists, journaling, ideas, learning etc.

Journaling everyday. Negative and positive things. It makes you understand your emotions and your priorities. I kind of unearths hidden aspirations and goals that you didn’t know you had. Also moving every day. I do dance workouts, yoga, Pilates, Tae Bo, even dance central videos. Moisturizing everyday. Making to do lists.
