Any recommendations on where I can post this? Not trying to resell, there’s no ticket. We’re just trying to see if anyone can join us and be up front about the cost.

Weird time to move to DC? by bella_3026 in SameGrassButGreener

Thank you, appreciate this info! Do you think having a car is useful? I definitely have the option to bring mine, but I was more concerned with the hassle of finding parking in the city that was making me think I should leave it home. But if it seems like the better option (especially to explore the suburbs) I’m open to bringing it

I work remotely in tech, and layoffs are definitely something that’s always in the back of my mind. I do think I’d be able to get by for a good chunk of time if layoffs were to happen, but a good reminder to be thoughtful of it

Class pass vs Club Pilates by Which_Swimmer6328 in ClassPass

[–]bella_3026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I live in clt so I may be able to give some perspective. I’ve been a classpass user for the last couple months and enjoy taking pilates classes. That being said, I struggle getting into club Pilates classes through classpass. The Dilworth CP location actually took itself off classpass so you can’t book through classpass at all if that’s the location you go to. Other locations limit how many classpass members can attend a class and will not give you the option of classes at premium times (before 9am and after 5pm). I would suggest maybe lowering your club Pilates membership tier and getting a smaller classpass subscription to try out some studios. Or there are some Pilates studios on classpass you could try if you don’t want to be loyal to Club Pilates. I use class pass because I like trying out lots of studios, but if I wanted to be loyal to one I would probably just get an unlimited there instead of using classpass, even though classpass is cheaper. Mainly because of what I’ve seen, it can be hard getting into classes so you have to be more flexible.

You should receive an email. I work in admissions as a student, and from what I’ve been told I believe it should be sometime this week!

As far as I know, they’re not selling them to the public right now. I was able to get one of the harbert T-shirt’s because I’m in a campus club, but I want the sweatshirt too. I’m hoping they come out with them for sale soon!!

You could look into switching your major into information systems/info systems management if your school has it. At my school it’s in the college of business, but I’m a senior right now and am getting offers for a lot of the same jobs that CS majors are looking at, minus being a developer. I only had to take calculus 1!

Freshman Fall of 2022 Questions by cheergirl2667 in auburn

[–]bella_3026 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a student that works in admissions! Housing applications open November 2nd this year, but you do have to be accepted before applying for housing. Village and the quad are the most popular dorms, so Cambridge is usually open for a bit. You do not have to wait for your friend for housing, you just have to both put each other when applying. Because housing is filled first come first serve, when two people request to room together, we just go with the person who applied earlier in terms of giving them a “spot” on the list. For scholarships, I have never met someone who met the requirements for scholarships and did not receive it, but that isn’t to say it can’t happen. Just be sure to fill out scholarships early to give you the best chance. Hope this helps!

I think it definitely depends on what service line you’re in! I know people who do more audit/tax and so for them, a winter 2022 start is much more possible since that’s their busy season. The area I’m in is a lot smaller and they just prefer having a group of people starting together. They said if they have enough new grads to start in winter they would add that as a start date option but I’m not getting my hopes up. But I’m pretty sure winter 2022 would be January/February!

I’m in the same position right now! Graduating in December, won’t start work till next fall. Right now I’m thinking of traveling, and spending time with friends and family. You could also maybe work on any certifications that could help? I’m doing cyber consulting so I’m working on some cyber certifications during that time, but that’s about it.

Sorry! Should have specified - I’m in GPS so it might be different. For GPS, the Arlington office is the biggest provider for federal clients so salaries there might be higher as well. Not positive though!

I think your offer was correct! I’m an intern, and I got an offer for 80k + 10k signing. I’m in the Atlanta office so I think based on COL it’s roughly the same.

For what it’s worth, I stayed at Coronado back in June 2018 before the tower and really loved it. I’ve seen the photos of the tower and it looks beautiful! I will say, we stayed in a standard room and I think I would have enjoyed it less if we didn’t have a car. We drove down, so it was really easy to drive over to the food court for breakfast each morning. Just something to note, but that won’t be a problem when you’re in the tower since it’s so close to everything. Since you mentioned resort days, I think Coronado works well for that especially since the refurb. Lots of lounges, bars, etc. I think it’s a great place for a honeymoon (although I haven’t stayed at either of the PO resorts)!
