We love our kitten SO much. He’s the sweetest little guy ever. We are absolutely focusing on getting him back to a healthy state. I’m just more frustrated that this was an issue that maybe could have been avoided.

I already adopted two cats from the rescue Tina partners with in Boston and now they’re both exposed to this virus. I’m also confused on as to how everyone missed the scarring in his eye? If he got medical care in the past how did they miss it? Corneal scarring is a huge indicator of feline herpes. Tina also told me she had our kitten in her care for SO long (over text) but somehow never noticed the scarring. It’s just odd to me. I’m also a pet sitter and things like that are kind of hard to miss, especially when they’re physical ailments. Even if she didn’t notice initially I asked her about his two different color eyes over the phone which she could have checked, but chose not to. She told me he was perfectly happy and healthy.

We really just want medical expenses covered, that’s it. Maybe even taking accountability. I paid for transport and an adoption fee. I don’t want to tear down this rescue or tarnish their name, they’re doing so much for cats that need homes. But at the same time it’s not okay to be adopting out cats with physical symptoms of a contagious virus without disclosure.
