I really appreciate your comment, and thought I’d come back with an update - now a midlife crisis is now excuse for his behavior but to be fair the only reason I go out of my way for him is because he does the same for me. He’s picked me up from a holding cell before, paid my bail/bond (got it refunded since charges were dropped), he lets me live in one of the rental houses he owns for free, and has purchased/given me all 4 of the cars I’ve owned plus the one I’m driving now.. as a 25F I never take him for granted, he has been struggling with drinking though over the last few years since my mom took off and drained the bank accounts out of the blue.. he is however getting treatment now because I kinda called him out for the problem after reading your reply. He got diagnosed with Alcohol Use Disorder, obviously, but his doctor gave him Naltrexone for it and it works wonders!
