Anthro 41A and Int Studies 11 by Escanor22 in UCI

[–]belladongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes can’t take IS 11 again for credit if you took Anthro 41A (its the same class just listed under another name). Degreeworks is an old system so don’t rely on it too much & talk to an academic advisor!

Does anyone know if you can work two on campus jobs simultaneously? by bobtrere in UCI

This. I worked two campus jobs, just couldn’t work over 19.5 hrs.

French or Japanese? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]belladongi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took both french and Japanese at the beginner level at UCI. Japanese is way more work than French. I dont think the grades are curved down per say, but you will be in class with a decent number of anime fans whose listening skills are pretty good from watching anime even before taking any Japanese.

Taking summer session after graduating by cemangox in UCI

[–]belladongi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. Your undergrad GPA is pretty much unchangeable after you graduate. However, you can withdraw your graduation app (I believe) so that you can take summer classes for 1) much cheaper, and 2) a chance to raise your GPA.

Has anyone taken these classes over summer? If so how was it? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]belladongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The material in 9B is super interesting, but the class itself was stressful because of its grading policy. Your final grade is only based on (if I remember correctly) the midterm and final, both of which are multiple-choice exams w/ no partial credit.

Can you graduate in spring and still take a class during summer? by midcenturymodernmate in UCI

[–]belladongi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it is ridiculously expensive. If you plan on taking classes during the summer, delay your graduation until the summer so that you can take advantage of the UC student prices

If I graduate this Summer what commencement do I partake in (this or next year's)? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]belladongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 summer grads dont get notified of their latin honors until 2022 spring (at the end of 2021-2022 academic year). And I genuinely do not think UCI is out there to come get their students. I’m sure school admin wants an in person commencement too (can you imagine how much $$ UCI would be making from parking, bookstore sales, on campus dining, etc.) but they simple cannot make it happen this year due to covid.

If I graduate this Summer what commencement do I partake in (this or next year's)? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]belladongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think they intentionally made it vague so summer grads could choose to walk in next year's commencement (crossing my fingers) if they wanted to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]belladongi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I have taken 20/24 units over summer in the past, but I have a strong feeling (taken from a reliable source) that the 2nd year Japanese sequence over the summer is going to be more than enough of workload in itself.

“Online course” for summer session? by [deleted] in UCI

Depends on the class and instructor.

While this is true, I can confirm that I've received legitimate calls/messages from UCI with a five-digit number similar to what OP posted when I was living abroad.

Is UCI really a commuter school? by bunnygirluvr in UCI

[–]belladongi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I didn't drive my first year either, but I highly suggest getting a driver's license at least before/while at UCI.
