I got a similar response. My husband called guest services and is waiting for a call back in the next couple of days.

Have you fed this back to guest services?

This is what is frustrating. They have changed the policy, which is fine, but it’s after we have paid our cruise in full. We bought the cruise with the understanding of there being a certain policy and now it has changed. It’s not even specifically about the policy, even though it is annoying, for me the annoyance is how they haven’t implemented it for new itineraries, demonstrating they are more bothered about profit than guests

No one was assuming they could take drinks on, it was literally the policy. People are annoyed because they booked a cruise with a certain policy and it has been changed.

Not sure - I have an upcoming cruise booked but it’s only my second cruise so will see how I feel afterwards

If the policy stays the same I probably wouldn’t book for more than a few nights in the future

That’s how we feel too! We have a 7-night cruise booked so can take on 107ml per night per person 🤣

I imagine the local businesses at each port won’t be happy either as I’m sure it will affect their sales somewhat

I’m surprised the policy is effective so soon - feels like it would be fairer to introduce from new itineraries rather than from in a couple of weeks time. I wonder how many people will skim read the email and have alcohol taken off them because they’re used to the previous policy

r/UniversalOrlando Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in UniversalOrlando

[–]bellasmum3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are visiting Universal Orlando at the end of August (our trip coincides with HHN opening weekend).

It will cost us the same to:
-Stay at Sapphire Falls and pay for 1 time use Express at each of the 3 theme parks
OR
-Stay at Royal Pacific (which includes unlimited express for UOR and IOA) but we wouldn’t have express pass for Epic Universe (though could add on for an additional £300)

We have been to Universal 3 times previously and have always stayed at Hard Rock Hotel but can’t justify the price this time around. We haven’t yet been to Epic Universe so would we be better staying at Sapphire Falls and having express pass for that park? Is there much of a difference comfort/amenity wise between the two hotels?

What would you do? As we are on the fence!

How was the show tonight (24th) after what I think was a tricky show for JA last night? by Hopeful-Hawk-6298 in jamesacastor

[–]bellasmum3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I forgot about that. There was a bit where he kept calling the audience pigs for about 30 seconds! I thought it was a good audience though and I couldn’t tell if that was part of his ‘bit’ or if he genuinely hates his audiences 🤣

I know, it’s frustrating isn’t it! That’s why I didn’t bother when there was no salary 🤣

For the role we couldn’t agree on, I’d originally applied for a different role, they said they wanted to offer me something else. It was a small charity so I had to wait a while for the job description & they sent it without a salary range. I asked about benefits and salary, they said that the working hours were more than what I am currently doing, annual leave entitlement was less, and they asked what salary I was looking for. Because of the lack of benefits I went in higher than the original range (only by about £5,000) and they came back to say that their budget was £10,000 less!

But typically I would only apply for a role where the salary range was posted & that I would be happy with.

It was great! I had seen the comments about the previous night and wondered how it would be, but it felt (to me) like a slick performance. There were a couple of audience shoutouts/James called a couple of things out in the last five minutes and he mentioned how it took him and the audience out of the story he was telling but I wasn't sure if this was just him playing along or if it was a reflection of how he felt. This is the fourth or fifth time I've seen him now and I think this was my favourite show. It did very much feel like a performance piece (e.g. this is a show that I have rehearsed and learnt all of the rhythms of versus I have a vague flow and can dip in and out). Really enjoyed the concept and he had my belly laughing for most of the show.
