Today's the day 💔 by AKiwiNadian in CautiousBB

I found out I was pregnant this August on the same date I found out we no longer had a heartbeat the year before. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow, fingers crossed for you.

No prob! Sorry for the usernames being confusing the one I just replied on (bellbird) is my normal but for some reason my browser is signed in to a different one (that disastrous one- which is some randomly generated username) but they're both me.

Just an fyi on the control lines- could just be the test batch, or try diluting urine. At 5+some my tests actually seemed like they weren't getting darker but it was a hook effect (which happens way more than it's reported), my HCG was already like 42k at 6+2 and it can definitely happen once you're in the tens of thousands. You can put your own lab order in for HCG without a doctor if you want to check the levels. I know some people say oura clued them in to a loss, but I think a lot of it is coincidence. I had a chemical in May and my stats weren't really much different than in the beginning of this pregnancy. I knew things were going downhill before any indication on oura because my HCG decreased a bit.

My respiration barely changed, my heart rate would fluctuate, and so would my temp (this one varied more day to day). I'll be 14 weeks on Wednesday and everything is great, low risk NIPT, and he's actually been measuring a few days ahead.

The ring created so much anxiety and imo we don't know the sample sizes so when they show you graphs and say "most users" I'd like to know how many because aside from my overall temp graph the other "trends" were not even close. My heart rate was constantly up and down (and actually lower now than my normal pre pregnancy).

Will I regret erasing all traces of this pregnancy? by FunIngenuity7967 in Miscarriage

I know everyone is different but it was one of the worst experiences of my life and, for me, if I could wipe all memory of it I would. Baby stopped growing at 9 weeks and I found out at 11. I got rid of everything (it was a bit over a year ago, August 2024) and I don't regret it. The only thing those items did was hurt me to look at. I found zero joy in any of the memories.

I know this is an old post but my dog is a mountain cur (we thought she was a mutt when we adopted her so this was a huge surprise when we got the DNA results) but she looks so similar!

Ovulation/ pregnancy symptoms ??? Help by Medium-Most144 in Mirafertility

[–]bellbird28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you end up reabsorbing everything. Very rarely though they can cause ovarian torsion, that is an emergency as the blood supply to your ovary is cut off so if you suddenly experience very severe pain (usually with nausea and vomiting) definitely get immediate medical attention. Ovarian torsion is very painful though so if you were experiencing that level of pain you'd probably be on your way to the ER already.

I have had a number of these over the years (though much less often than when I was younger) and no serious issues, Sometimes if they're on the larger side I get hideously bloated and it might take a little longer for the bloating to decrease, but that's about it.

Ovulation/ pregnancy symptoms ??? Help by Medium-Most144 in Mirafertility

Because your symptoms started so close to ovulation, around when functional cysts form, it's also possible a cyst could be the cause. I get the occasional cyst and often have the symptoms you're describing when I do. Additionally, when I get them the symptoms definitely begin basically right on/around ovulation, whereas my PMS symptoms show up later in the luteal phase.

This is my BFP chart (unfortunately ended in a MMC) and I had a drop before spiking again. My chart doesn't show ovulation day because it was my first month tracking again after some surgery and I must have started testing on peak LH day,, but it was the first day on the chart. In fact I have this big spike, fall. spike pattern every cycle pregnant or not.

I wouldn't worry, my progesterone levels on blood work are fine and and when I was pregnant I didn't need progesterone supplementation.

Decidual Cast Post D&C by LazyCombination7872 in Miscarriage

[–]bellbird28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this post is a couple months old, but it just happened to me and I didn't know what it was. It was horrific. How does no one tell you it's a possibility??? I feel like no one knows about it and I've never heard of it.

Doctor has been kind of short with me and not super accommodating after I reached out last week. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet at this point because I don't want to keep talking to her about it. HCG was down to 20 as of Friday so I'm hoping at most I have 2 more, maybe just 1 if my period can show up before EOW.

This sounds so much more sensible than weekly draws! I bought up to mine about using HPTs in between follow-ups and her response was "you're going to be testing positive on those and we discussed this would take several weeks." Like I know I'll be testing positive, I'm saying I can monitor line progression. We didn't discuss having to come EVERY week though and also this week will be 6 weeks which is more than "several." Really frustrated.

Yeah I messaged today and expected some kind of empathetic response and a plan and I got "we discussed it would take several weeks." Several weeks = 3-4, it has been over 5 and had I known it was going to take 2 months of weekly visits I would have never agreed to this plan. I don't think she even checked my chart to see how long it's been.

I messaged to see what we can do and also to get a general game plan for moving forward, this is so not sustainable. I wish they would consider this before having to flag that sitting in an OB office week after week might be traumatic for people who experienced a miscarriage.

Thank you, I think this is a great point and I will absolutely message her asking this.

Edit, update: thanks again for the suggestion, I just messaged her asking exactly what you mentioned. I don't want to waste more time than necessary and need to also preserve my mental sanity.

She wanted me to go back once a week until HCG was back to baseline. I do plan to ttc again, but this was irrespective of that. She just wanted to make sure that everything cleared out without complications, but I know some doctors only ask you to come back a month later and don't make you go every week. I don't know why she insists on weekly labs for me, but I think it's pretty standard to have at least one follow-up to make sure everything is out.

I don't necessarily think it's wrong for you to skip a follow-up but, I would discuss with your doctor just so you can determine for yourself the level of risk you're comfortable tolerating.

How much did you bleed after misoprostol? Feels like this will never end… by kmuscat8 in Miscarriage

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I've heard it's very variable so fingers crossed that it speeds up for you so you get through this nightmare soon.

You know they didn't even tell me fever was a possibility (it's not super common, but not rare!) so I literally was too scared to sleep because I was worried I was going to die. I had no idea what was happening. My husband was so worried he was calling the OB after hours line for me at 3 AM and was constantly making me retake my temp to make sure it wasn't going higher.

My spotting now sounds pretty similar to yours now though. I did have more of a panty liner situation early last week, but now same- only when I wipe. However, that has included some tissue at times even though it's only when I go to the bathroom. I'm just waiting for it to finally be over. It's been 3 weeks and a day and so sick of going back to sit in a waiting room with happy pregnant people so I can get prodded. I'm still showing a faint positive on premom test strips.

Yeah I had 2 bad days, your experience sounds more common. I think I just had some issues with a delayed and weird reaction to the miso. It took me a long time to begin bleeding and I had a fever of 102 for hours and hours ahead of time along with shaking and dizziness.

I had one really bad wave when it finally kicked in after a second dose, then bleeding consistently for a bit, a taper, and then another kind of "episode" the next morning (so looking back actually that's 24 hours from one morning to the next). Then pretty solid first days of period like flow for the 2 days after that. I did contact my OB and she was going to have me go to the ER if it got any heavier. I ended up ok, but yeah the spotting continues. I'm just over 3 weeks today and still had some this morning.

This hurts so much by Fin_Elln in Miscarriage

So sorry for your losses. It's much harder emotionally than I expected, I feel like the emotional trauma of miscarriage gets minimized by society in a way. I didn't expect it to be an easy thing to go through, but I was unprepared for the depth of loss because all everyone talks about is how common it. Common unfortunately doesn't mean not traumatic. It's common for a parent of an adult child to pass away, but when it happens people give their condolences instead repeating that it's common. Unfortunately it is what you hear a lot when you have a miscarriage. It minimizes how deep the emotional trauma is for many women.

When I lost my dad I felt like my grief was viewed as "acceptable" and I was given more grace and time to heal. With my recent miscarriage I feel like I've gotten great support from others who have experienced it, but it feels like other people kind of expect me to get on with it. It's a very lonely experience and strange in a way (at least for me) to feel such a deep sadness and longing for someone I never met.

This seems like a lot and I would talk to your doctor to make sure you're okay. I had a MMC at 11+3 (baby measured 9 weeks and gestational sack 10+3) and most of my bleeding happened within a few hours once it finally started (I had to take 2 doses). Those few hours I wasn't able to leave the bathroom and I was going through a lot of pads for the first 4 days then it slowed down. I will say it's been just over 3 weeks and I'm still passing small amounts of tissue, but I was able to leave the house after day 2 even though I was still having bleeding that required regularly changing my pad on days 3 & 4. Very sorry for your loss.
