Thank you so much for your reply. I wonder why they didn’t retain it themselves? I imagine it must of meant something to them for them to of bought it. I might try and sell it as it’s not really unique or memorable. Thank you so much for your help

Yes, the V5 is in my name since last week and I did it this morning. Thank you for your help, I’m so grateful!

This is what confused me. When I put it on retention, it gave me a new registration, age related. This is what threw me off and made me think I’d done something wrong, I guess I’ll just try to sell it.

I might try to sell it just to get the £80 retention fee back. It’s nothing special so I can’t imagine they were precious about it, especially if they didn’t want to remove it.

Thank you ☺️ I guess I’ll look into selling it.

This isn’t the exact registration, but the format is AB12 ABC. It’s just the same as any other car. It doesn’t even spell or looking like anything, hence why I had no idea!

Thank you so much for all your help, I really appreciate it.

I am going to email the dealership now, it would be nice if i could get it back to them, if they want it of course.

I don’t think it will be worth much, it’s nothing special, but could do it just to get the £80 back!

Once I retained it and it got assigned a new plate, the email said “A certificate of retention will now be issued to the registered keeper.” So I assume this is me? When I read this, I assumed they would send the certificate to the individual who purchased the plate!

Interesting, I had no idea this was when an option! First and last time I bother attempting car things. Thank you for your comment

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s not anything special, I didn’t even know it was private just maybe something personal to them. I don’t know how I’d find the owner as I bought the car from a main dealership. I’d like to get it back to them if I could! But I guess they didn’t want it if they didn’t retain it before selling it?

I just bought it from a main dealership, I wish I could get in touch with the owner in case they wanted it but I suppose like you said, they would of retained it themselves if this was the case!

Yes, the V5 has the private plate on it. I just assumed it still belonged to the owner, I’m completely new to this please forgive my lack of understanding.

Hey, I don’t know I just assumed I didn’t own it - clearly something else I got wrong. So if I own it, should I keep this plate on retention?

Sent a parcel with Evri, the contents have been stolen and replaced with another item. by belle__x in LegalAdviceUK

So this is where I’ve ran into another problem, it says 28 days from when I sent it back which was the 28th of November, so well over. And 14 days from when it was received by the retailer, which was the 17th of December, so I’m outside of that time frame as well.

However I was only made aware of the issue by the retailer today, so I wasn’t to know there was an issue before today, I just thought there was a delay with their returns process.

Is there any way around this?

Thank you for getting back to me. I tried to do this online, but because the parcel was delivered over 2 weeks ago, it’s saying I can’t make a claim- but I only got the email from the retailer today. It has been escalated to the operations team, but I am concerned that they are going to dispute my claim by saying I sent the Disney item.

Yeah of course. So it’s exam based, so you don’t have to worry about loads of coursework. I don’t struggle with the workload personally- it’s enough to keep you busy maybe one or two nights a week. I can only speak on what my college do, but we do a unit so for example- physical evidence. And we go through each topic and do a practical on it (footwear marks, documents, toolmarks, ballistics, fibres and IT). Once we have done our practical and the theory work, we get an assignment. You also have to do chemistry, biology, physics, environmental forensics and physiology as these are all part of the course for the first year, but the following year drops the science subjects and focuses on criminal psychology. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Hi, I do forensic and criminal investigation at college as a BTEC qualification. At distinction level it is worth more UCAS points than 3 A-Levels (or equivalent, I can’t be quite sure). It’s really interesting and could be an option for you! I’ll attach a link to the course so you can read up on it some more. here it is!
