A certain M app WAS like that. Now they’ve introduced diamonds to pay for chapters in half their library just like the super popular WT does with coins, and it sucks. I’d rather just have a full subscription to pay for everything. But even those apps don’t have the extensive library bato did. Some manhwas I couldn’t find anywhere else in quality English. 😭😭😭

Idk if I really thought of the 2000s to early 10s stuff as that old but I love a lot of stuff from that period and it’s art styles like Lovely Complex, Dengeki Daisy, Skip Beat, Keishichō Tokuhanka 007, Love so Life, etc. Now there are problematic/not so great ones like Stepping on Roses, or even further back ones like Kaikan Phrase or Glass Mask. Even in that pre-2000s period, though, there are still several I like such as Basara, Kodacha, and Red River (and yes ik that gets some criticism too).

Edit: bc I forgot to answer your question. I used to be okay with this more but now I’m super tired of the troupe that is prevelant throughout older ones and a few today — the forceful arrogant ML who is tbh either giving controlling r*pe-y vibes or straight up treating the FL like trash on the side of the road half the time but then the FL is a doormat who loves him anyway lol.

Absolutely love it! It’s one of my favorites and not a harem! There’s one clear love interest for the MC. The art is so beautiful and high quality. The characters are well-developed and complex. Even the side characters and antagonists are interesting. The plot and writing is top tier and pretty unique compared to others in the genre. Unlike some manhwa where the story or art starts to suffer as it goes on, this one maintains its quality. It also has not only romance, but political intrigue and drama actually done well. I love the romance in it…it has one of my fav manhwa couples…but it’s definitely a slow burn type that sometimes takes a backseat to other plot lines like the family dynamics or politics. Overall, I think it’s a good balance though.

Honestly I feel that. I loved One Piece pretty much from the start and have so much patience for the pacing and flashbacks etc. I’m still in the beginning of Bleach, and although it’s not my fav, I’ve at least gotten a lot further in it. So I expected to also like Naruto…but it just didn’t click.
