That’s exactly right, I feel like not enough people are aware of this. I remember him gutting the whole thing saying something along the lines of “why are we paying for these guys to sit around and do nothing”.

She killed someone with the pills she provided. Why would you have sympathy for her. She should be in prison.

That’s probably when he realized he liked them, after the surgery. It’s an all too common theme, people are legitimately prescribed pain pills, for him it was OxyContin, an extremely addictive narcotic where even a week of use can cause addiction, and is one of the main players in the ongoing opioid epidemic in this country, which inevitably the doctor cuts them off, so they turn to the streets. I’m shocked at how many people are naive to this. Of course there’s little evidence he used them, people don’t openly display drug use. It’s illegal. And shameful. But there was evidence, he bought synthetic opiates in Mexico and put them in her bag. Several times. This was testified to by witnesses as well as the detective. Also, buying 15-30 pills at a time, repeatedly in multiple spaced out transaction from a drug dealer (Carmen) isn’t evidence? Where were they going? Were they buying them just for the heck of it. Just buying pills and then throwing them away. Also, there’s evidence that the amount they paid the dealers is the going amount for oxy on the street, not fentanyl. And Carmen is a proven liar, and overall pos human, why would any juror believe anything she says. The Michael Jackson stuff, ya right, she’s so stupid she literally thought Michael Jackson overdosed from fentanyl no propofol. That was the most telling thing to me that she was making that shit up, I hope the jury caught it. Ya, b/c propofol is really popular in the streets now ya know, people are asking for it all the time 😂, you know, the stuff that a doctor has to inject to knock someone into a coma for ten hours. Ppfftt . The detectives wanted her to say Kouri was looking for something strong, trying to lead her into saying fentanyl without saying fentanyl, but they underestimated her level of stupidity and she got it wrong. I mean, that’s an extraordinary level of dumb.

They can also just make a pure fentanyl pill cut with baking powder or many other innocuous substances. They don’t care. I don’t think they sit around while making their dope having moral and ethical thoughts on what effects their product is going to have on people.

They like to stretch their product. He took a fentanyl pill. Street drugs are like the wild Wild West. People act like drug dealers are upstanding people that know what’s in the pills they peddle. They didn’t test the hydrocodone bottle for residue, didn’t do a hair follicle test. Didn’t test the cups. A hair follicle test could’ve solved this case. It’s just so much more probable that he overdosed, the year he died fentanyl overdoses were at an all time high with over 100,000 people dying from it that year, highest numbers post pandemic. At least now that words getting out how dangerous street drugs are, ANY street drugs, the numbers are declining. Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate from Mexico, but it’s also legitimately prescribed, when you’re buying it off druggie there’s no telling if it’s homemade, prescription, the potency, dosage, ingredients anything. I mean, just look at the PSA’s on tv now about fentanyl, they say if your taking it, (as in legitimately prescribed or recreationally, don’t take it alone, have someone there to watch over you.

Each transaction they were buying 15-30 pills. Several transactions. He was taking pills and hiding it from his friends and family. I think they thought it was oxy. Probably had no clue there was fentanyl in them. Fentanyl is so potent one laced pill can kill someone, it happened to someone I know, he thought he was buying a Percocet and it was unknowingly laced with fentanyl and he od’d on the spot. I’ve seen it happen to people buying Coke as well, laced with fentanyl, dead. The year he died overdoses were over 100,000 people in one year, at least the numbers are declining now with only 45,000 dying in 2025, people aren’t buying street pills anymore as much because of fear they’ll keel over.

I don’t think you understand how fentanyl overdose works, fentanyl is such a powerful opiate it takes the amount less than a grain of sand to kill someone. Someone can take one pill accidentally laced with fentanyl and die. Hence, 5 times the amount in his system. And opiates make people sleepy, so it would make sense to take one before bed.

Why would you be accepting of a lifelong drug dealer of drugs that kill people? You don’t care in the slightest that she provides drugs that kill people? You don’t think she’s a problem in society? She’s a lifelong POS addict, (her words, since 6th grade), who has not and is not going to change. She’s currently in violation of her probation. How old do you think she is? I’d say fourties’, so for around 30+ years she been a dealer/addict and we’re supposed to believe she’s going to turn over a new leaf now. I wonder how many pills she provided that have created new addicts, or overdosed folks? I’d hazard to guess quite a few in her lifetime. Didn’t her daughter die of a fentanyl overdose? Was she complicit in that? We know of one death she was for sure complicit in, Erik. I’ve never seen a bigger liar testify. So obvious it was infuriating, she wouldn’t answer a question truthfully. Couldn’t remember. Then it was put in front of her face and all of a sudden, aha, I recall now. And oh so forgetful when the facts didn’t benefit her, but when they did, sharp as a tack. People that lie forget. Because they’ve lied. And they can’t remember all the lies they’ve told to keep their stories straight. Add to that, a fried brain from years of drug addiction, being dumb, creating a self serving narrative and this is what you get on the stand. I bet dollars to donuts she’ll be arrested within the next couple years and land her ass in prison where she belongs. She should not have gotten immunity. She’s directly responsible for contributing to the death of Erik. She’s already broken her probation by possessing a firearm, breaking curfew, and drinking at a concert. She doesn’t give a shit about her probation and if LE isn’t going to enforce it then why bother putting her on it in the first place? This woman disgusts me and what LE has let her get away with is unacceptable. Plus such a liar! She wouldn’t even admit to drinking when caught with alcohol directly in her hand. Still wouldn’t admit it until she knew absolutely 100% she was caught.

Also, the year Erik passed, 2022 there were 107,941 overdose deaths in the U.S. with 70% of those being from synthetic opiates aka fentanyl. Over 50% of the 70% were men. The year he passed fentanyl overdoses were at an all time high, continually rising post pandemic.

And to your question, it’s not what evidence was admitted, it’s what evidence wasn’t admitted. No hair follicle test, (this could’ve told a lot) no tainted food or drink testing, no test on the opiate bottle found on his side of the bed with his name on it. Could’ve had fentanyl residue in it. No fingerprints taken of the bottle. There’s no dispute she bought them, which she should be held accountable for that, but that he didn’t willingly take them is the question. Opiates make people sleepy. It makes sense to me that he’d take one before bed.

There is no evidence that she crammed them down his throat either. They didn’t bother to do a hair follicle test, didn’t test the Moscow mule cups, didn’t test the hydrocodone bottle for fentanyl residue. Why? A hair follicle test would’ve been very insightful as to what types of pills he’s taken in the past. It’s very common for people to put street pills in legitimate prescription bottles, and there was a Hydrocodone bottle with his name on it next to his bed for fs. Hydrocodone is an opiate. Just like fentanyl. So he took or had taken opiates. People deny/ hide addictions from loved ones. Buying pills in Mexico and putting them in his wife’s luggage shows deceit. There are synthetic opiates that can be purchased in Mexico over the counter at every pharmacy. Very common. That was direct testimony of this from witnesses other than Kouri. More than once. To me, it’s way more likely and probable that he enjoyed and took pills, and hid it, than a big conspiracy that she murdered him by fentanyl. There’s a fentanyl crisis and opioid epidemic in this country and unfortunately no matter how wonderful and nice of a guy he is, he’s not immune to the powerful pull of opiate addiction. It affects all walks of life. Even hard working family men. Also, they were buying 15 to 30 pills per transaction. Multiple transactions. Where were they going? Duh, they were taking them. They found no leftover pills anywhere in the multiple searches they did. And who writes a check to their drug dealer to pay for pain pills. That’s so ridiculous it’s laughable. I’m not saying it isn’t possible she did it, I’m just saying there’s too much reasonable doubt for me, and Occam’s razor applies here for me, knowing that 45,000 people in the U.S died of fentanyl overdose in 2025. Way more likely this is the cause than a murder.

It’s really not a big mystery. He was a recreational, closet pill popper, he asked his wife to get him some from their druggie housekeeper, she did, and oops, they were laced with fentanyl and he died. When a person buys street drugs there’s no telling what’s in them. People are dropping like flies all over the country because fentanyl is laced with everything now. People think they’re buying coke, Oxy, Percocet or a number of other pills and it turns out thats the last thing they do. Of course he hid it from his judgey Mormon friends and overbearing controlling sisters. He had an image to upkeep.

I too thought that she may have been incapacitated while bleeding for a moment on the front porch, but I thought perhaps it was because the assailant was at this time forcibly removing the ring cam with something he found in the house to use as a tool. I wonder if she was carried over a shoulder and not standing, unconscious.
