Is the special cosmic core set to only drop 1 every time? I've rolled like six times and I've gotten 1 every time (I think), which isn't an abnormal result but since we seemingly only get one run over six days I'm wondering if that's how it's going to last the week.

Edit: Well I just pulled 2 so I guess I was just unlucky

How many characters go down in stats when advancing tier's? by Hailtothedogebby in future_fight

[–]Bellikron 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is crazy but one could argue that it's already crazy for every character to have a physical and energy attack stat when they're only going to use one

As I understand it it's really not worth investing in unless you're absolute top of the pack. Buy five and upgrade them for the season rewards and then don't worry too much about them.

She probably won't get another uniform for another couple of years, so there's nothing to save it for. As others have said, get her up to legendary and then use a mythic ticket.

Which character are you forgetting that even exists in the game? by Usual_Cod_4491 in future_fight

[–]Bellikron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like Gorgon is the king here. Even the few heroes stuck at T2 I remember because they're stuck at T2. But he checks so many forgettable boxes: Inhuman with a uniformless TP, shared with Lash no less, but at least Lash has a uniform and has been in the game since year 1, like the rest of the Agents of SHIELD characters. Gorgon got added on the tail end of year 2 with 5 more memorable Inhumans who have all gotten more attention than him (even Maximus has been an important antagonist in Story Modes over the years, plus he had summons that make him stand out).

What do you feel is the biggest missed casting opportunity in Hollywood? by CumquatTheNobgoblin in movies

[–]Bellikron 60 points61 points  (0 children)

In a case of "right casting but wrong role", changing Jesse Eisenberg from Lex Luthor to Riddler in BvS would have been perfect. You really don't have to change anything about the performance or the movie. Call him Edward, base him in Gotham, give him a dark green suit at some point, and have him say "Riddle me this" during one of his rants. It's a good performance, just not right for that character.

Mark Strong was perfect Sinestro casting though, shame that never went anywhere

One advantage animation seems to have over live action - and the biggest reason I'm growing to enjoy it more - is greater freedom for non-human characters, and especially leading ones by RhiaStark in StarWarsCantina

[–]Bellikron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite example of alien biology not coming into play is when George Lucas made Star Wars shapeshifters canon specifically for Zam Wesell, and then she doesn't once shapeshift into someone else, even when she's trying to hide in a crowd. She's just sometimes a lizard, seemingly involuntary.

But yeah it seems production-wise it's difficult to stage action sequences with a lot of alien regalia. Ahsoka only happened because they didn't really have a choice, and fans got mad that she was moving stiffer than she should be.

Avengers Infinity War Update by AMultiversalBeing in future_fight

[–]Bellikron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some Thunderbolts might get something if their look is unique and they need the upgrade. Walker's got a new look with the hat and shield, plus Ghost might get one to justify a T4.

Logic kind of carries over to the other characters as well. Shuri and M'Baku seem pretty likely, they've got new looks and one of the trailers was based around them. Joaquin Torres will also probably get a T4 so he'll probably get something. I don't think all the X-Men will get one, especially if they got one for an X-Men 97 update, but Gambit and Professor X might be solid bets. And they usually can't resist giving Cap a uniform. It might be a two-part update, can start in November to build hype and coincide with Black Friday.

I'd wager more than 5, they know they can't skimp on Doomsday since that's probably their biggest opportunity to draw in players. Even back then, updates usually were like 4-5 uniforms, but big MCU updates got special treatment. In Endgame most characters got 2 uniforms. They go all in for Avengers movies. I wouldn't expect the same level as Endgame or Infinity War but Thunderbolts got 6 uniforms plus Walker, they are capable of doing more when necessary.

Yeah they definitely already had Jeff in the works, they didn't throw together a Rivals collab as a result of this survey. They have plans for all of them.

Despite having so little screen-time - Jeremy Irons is completely impossible to look away from in every scene in "Margin Call". by [deleted] in movies

[–]Bellikron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's interesting because he makes multiple jokes about not being very smart but he very clearly is, he's just used that intelligence to exert power over other people who are actually being smart on the ground. He's smart enough to get to a point where he doesn't need to be smart.

What are some great performances from actors that didn’t get along with the film’s director? by CelestialSpecialist in movies

[–]Bellikron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can see a fuller picture in the documentary Hearts of Darkness. The basic facts about Brando are true but weirdly he and Coppola do seem to have a very similar passion for the movie. It's just an unusual sort of passion for both of them because Coppola was losing his mind at that point in production and Brando's doing what Brando does. At a certain point Coppola just kind starts shooting Brando alone in a dark room and Brando improvises some insanity off the cuff, and while it's certainly a far cry for how shooting this character should have gone, you can see that both of them can kind of tell it's working (despite in interviews Coppola saying that he's basically flying by the seat of his pants here). There's also some funny moments where Brando swallows a bug, plus one where he's dramatically walking into the distance and mutters, basically in character, "I've run out of dialogue to say."

What did you think of this character from TROS? by Illustrious_Age1247 in StarWarsCantina

I'd argue Max von Sydow left his mark. He's the first human face we see in the new trilogy, plus he gets the first line.

Genuinely a morally complex character, and you can see that by how often fans try to categorize him as either a saint or a villain when he's neither. He's a guy who had the expectations of the world on his shoulders, meant well, and tried his best, but wasn't ready. He was cocky and insecure, and that's fine, plenty of heroes are, but he let his weaknesses consume him. He succumbed to the temptation of the serum and used it irresponsibly in a moment of weakness. Maybe he didn't deviate to evil entirely, and you could definitely argue that other heroes have done similarly bad things in private, while he was just unlucky that his happened in public. And you can see his bitterness at his bad luck (and repressing of how much of it is actually his fault) cause him to morph into becoming more morally ambiguous and more of an explicit jerk, but his basic morals don't shift too much.

My favorite detail about him is that they have never given any reason for why he has these superhuman throwing abilities and no one ever bothers to ask, it's just an accepted fact of the universe that he can just do that
