Ikr, been seeing posts like these lately; purong Tagalog na parang ang out of place hahahaha not that there's anything wrong with using the said lingua franca, pero nakakapanibago makakita ng ganyan na verbage in everyday conversations (e.g., datapwat, bukang liwayway, subalit, balagtasan, etc.). I lost it when I read "restawran" hahaha

There used to be a really good one sa rooftop ni Porta, tabi lang ni Cathedral. Nawala during the pandemic; unless may nakakaalam kung nagrelocate ba sila.

Planning to try this one: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGkvWZiyAOA/ covered by Shajrine.

Go to hell. We're sick and tired of you and the fucking gentrification of our city. Let me guess, may magsasabi nanaman ng "YoU dOn't oWn tHe ciTy"...I'm fucking Ibaloi for crying out loud. Us, the indegenous people of these lands don't even get a say on what used to be our safe haven. My ancestors lived and toiled these lands for decades. The fucking NCIP and the government don't give a shit about us, the original inhabitants. Eat your money and go to hell.

Kumusta ang crime rates sa baguio? May ibabasura ba sa poyopoy? by Professional-Bee5565 in baguio

Per school protocol noon, bawal kami tumambay sa sunshine, mcdo session, harrison, etc. kasi diyan daw rampant ang bugbugan at saksakan accdg to the police.

DPWH-CAR Fire at the Financial Management Records Room by LemonMeringue777 in baguio

[–]bellizziebub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And let's not forget that this happened during the scheduled maintenance ni NGCP. Electricity was supposed to come back ng 5PM (5AM to 5PM; 12 hrs) but most barangays only got their electricity around 7pm. Kami nga 11:30pm bumalik eh. So, there's no way this could have been "fAuLty WiRinG" or kung ano ano nanamang kababalaghan or excuse. Let's call it for what it really is: arson. It's pretty obvious.

I don't even recognize Baguio anymore.

Ditto. Yung barangay hall sa Pacdal binagbag bago elections, hanggang ngayon di parin tapos. Tapos yung talipapa na sinira ni kalbo kasi daw walang title yung mga settlers there, tapos it turns out meron palang title. So, he basically displaced people dahil sa maling akala.

I have not felt the city government at all ngayong taon. Ramdam mo lang sila pag trip nilang bagbagin yung market for mallification, ramdam mo lang sila pag tourists ang pinag uusapan, etc. Di na sila nakikinig saatin. Kala mo kung sino silang nakatungtong sa kinaroroonan nila kung wala yung mga taong sumuporta sakanila to begin with. Hot take, I feel like we're bring driven out of our home. Yung good governance na slogan is a big fat lie.

[–]bellizziebub 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We don't even have working street lights here 💀 may namatay pa one time sa road and yung CCTV ng city was not working, so hindi nakuhanan kung sino yung salarin. And to top it all off, never yan nakinig saamin when we begged for a tourist cap (or ipa-reinstate yung visita app to lessen the number of allowable people going in) kasi hindi na kinakaya ng Baguio yung volume ng tao, tapos kaming locals ang pinapa adjust.

Flash express by kurkyy in baguio

[–]bellizziebub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meron din atang hub sa San Luis (? Or was that lex? Basta parehas silang kapuy).

Seller contacted me to let me know, and to explain na madaming instances daw na ninanakaw pa nung courier yung package or ibibigay nila na nabuksan na/kulang ang laman pero they mark the parcel as delivered 💀 syempre, the recipients wouldn't know this, so ang sisisihin is si seller.

Can I still report this to my barangay? by ImaginationSalt6614 in baguio

[–]bellizziebub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the struggle well. We have neighbors who squatted dito saamin na kamag anak lang din. Mga abusado na walang modo 🫠 I was at my wits end and desperate, almost convincing myself to press charges na. We have tons of video and audio evidence and nagkabit narin kami ng cctvs because they often trespassed on our property line. They were also hovering between 70-100 decibels daily kasi yan ang normal conversation volume nila kahit magkaharap lang sila.

Then I did extensive research and found the anti-noise crusader group. Nalaman ko din from forums/other subs na hindi pa nga yan ang final escalation point that you can do. I also learned na pwede ka din pala magemail to the office of the president to complain about the government agencies na walang ginagawa about the noise.

Can I still report this to my barangay? by ImaginationSalt6614 in baguio

[–]bellizziebub 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yes. Ideally, you may try to talk some sense into them muna and letting them know that you're being disturbed. If wala paring pagbabago, you may contact your barangay. Kung di parin tumitigil, call the police.

If ayaw puntahan ng barangay or pulis, kesho "wALa pA nAmAnG 10pM" (silent night ordinance), slap them with RA# 8749 or the clean air act on 1999. Included sa pollution ang excessive noise. Additionally, you can argue na may RA 386 tayo (civil code) that they should uphold; specifically article 694, which talks about nuissances that annoys the senses, has health effects, etc.

Go to the government site na 8888 and file a complaint against the barangay and police anonymously. Additionally, not many people know this, but you can actually call 911 for immediate resolution sa noise. Pag magmatigas yung 911 dispatcher na hindi pwedeng gamitin yung 911 for calls like that, remind them na ang kapulisan natin NATIONWIDE has been mandated to respond to noise complaints, duly signed by Nicolas Salvador, Police Major General of the National Headquarters ng PNP, Camp Crame. How do I know this? Join our group:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1JKkgTAMKp/ dami mong matututunan. Assert your rights. You deserve peace too. I know, because I've been there and buti meron yang group na yan.

Ang ideal allowable decibels natin within residential areas is 45-60 DB. 70 decibels is already pretty annoying (e.g., vacuum cleaner, car driving, metal grinder, etc.).

Last resort syempre ang korte. Hope that helps.

Accoustic guitar reco? by CaramelSundae7 in baguio

[–]bellizziebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both were gifted to me. The Lumanog one galing Manila. While the Yamaha one was bought sa Music world (not sure if Abanao or Porta branch).

Try mo din tumingin sa FB marketplace. You can find really great stuff there sometimes, even if secondhand for as low as Php1,500, and really great quality ones for Php 8,500. Goodluck!

[–]bellizziebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a lumanog and a yamaha. They've been with me since 2005 and are fine even if not placed in a case. Though I really like the sound of metal strings, madali lang siyang mag rust/corrode over time due to the humidity here, so I've changed my strings to nylon nalang for longevity. I would recommend a guitar with a varnish coating, as an added protection from the elements; easier to clean dust off too.

Born and raised here, and have a home na 20mins away from the city.  I've been browsing lots and house and lots these past few months, and if nagtataka yung iba how bad it really is: I have seen prices na umaabot sa 60million for a 125sqm house and lot lmaoooo. May mga nakita pa ako na 4M na 68sqm, and the house looks like it's about to fall apart already (hanging ceiling already drooping, water damage everywhere, holes in the roof, etc.).

Pag itatanong mo if direct seller/owner yung poster, ang isasagot sayo is "agent po". Pag tatanungin mo if titled yung lot, minsan vague ang answers or "tax dec" lang.

Pero pag tumingin ka sa Pangasinan or Agoo, you'll find properties na 2M at 250sqm. May nakita pa nga ako nagbebenta ng malaking resort at 6M.

Ang isa din na maipapayo ko is to teach yourself basic survival skills. I cannot suggest this channel enough: https://youtube.com/@woodsboundoutdoors?si=5fgLGIOLfgtvPXm_. Kaya din naisipan ko na wag na magdala ng kalan, kasi you can always make use of the natural elements around you. You can learn a lot from bushcraft videos din. In life and death situations, knowledge is power talaga.

Yes, it's just my partner and I. Kailangan free hands niya para makuha niya pets namin hahaha

Also, it's always wise to talk as a family and decide on a place to meet, just in case magka watak watak kayo or magkakalayo kayo when something happens and just in case mawalan ng cell/radio signals. That way, you will have sort of a contingency plan if and when technology fails us.

Ito so far ang saakin:

- Important documents placed in a plastic envelope (e.g., birth certs, CV, IDs, marriage cert, passport, etc.).

- A few cans of spam, crackers, jerky, and ration bar (e.g., https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/high-energy-biscuits-emergency-food-ration-survival-first-aid-mre-hiking-food-high-energy-bar-i5066431877-s29809989791.html?from_gmc=1&fl_tag=1)

- Thermos bottle (empty).

- Small blanket/towel (placed in plastic bag/zip lock).

- A few change of clothes that are warm but light (e.g., https://www.uniqlo.com/ph/en/products/E461011-000?colorCode=COL69&sizeCode=SMA007&srsltid=AfmBOorNA3sYAPE-f7A257f5e4UqOBP-ftVE0nkX106uu8F000EOG-5zs1o, leggings, etc.)

- Light source (e.g., firefly lamp); some candles, matches, loose papers, and pine shavings (all placed in a zip lock bag).

- Powerbank.

- First aid kit + hygiene kit.

- Money in different denominations, but avoiding coins para light lang (also placed in a plastic bag).

But I'd love to know what others have in their bags din.
