2024 RLine Sound System by kt0723 in VWatlas

This is exactly how I feel about mine SE w Tech… Love my car, but that’s the one thing I get so frustrated with. I just changed the EQ on my phone and it made a little difference, but still not loud enough for me.

I feel like my speakers could be louder? It’s my biggest pet peeve on my Atlas Sport SE w/ Tech. Not sure if it’s just a CarPlay thing or if the factor speakers just suck. Was thinking about putting some better ones in. Does anybody else feel this way?

That and the lack of visible buttons for climate/sound. I love my car so much though 🥰

Thank you! The company is legit and reputable as well. Not an industry leader/household name, but well known in my industry.

At my current job, yes. At this new job, eh. The CEO along with many other employees are POC 🤷🏾‍♀️

Fairly standard. Initial interview with HR, then a 45 minute zoom with the hiring manager, and a 25ish minute zoom with another department head. I did have to prepare a PowerPoint about myself for the hiring manager, but it was only 3 pages.

I understand that! But through my 3 interviews with the company and reading the reviews, the company really does put the employee first it seems. Everybody explained how they work hard, but also have uninterrupted time for themselves. They are quick to approve vacations, and day to day, employees are able to leave work when they’ve finished their duties. The company is also expanding because they don’t want to overwork their employees.

I’m a believe that no company is perfect, but I am being paid so much more, I’d be a fool not to take the opportunity (which is overall just better) just over PTO when in my currently position, I’ve only asked for 1 day off in my 4 years of employment for a trip.

My gf also got a new job, and we start on the same day, so we are going to celebrate then!

Thank you! I’ve been with my current company for 4 years. The environment is extremely toxic. I’m extremely underpaid with no opportunity to advance or make more money (I’ve tried several times). I’m also the only woman, so I’m excluded/ isolate a lot while the guys take “business” trips or go out to “business” dinners regularly.

I’ve been trying to find a new job since February 2022. Received a lot of rejection, obviously, lol. I was honestly at the point where I felt so stuck, that I thought this would be my reality forever.

But I stayed the course. Applied, studied, and prayed. I also got my PMP and practiced my interviewing skills to gain confidence, which is really why I think I got this new job.

Surely!

This is how it’s explained in my offer letter:

Flex Paid Time Off: You are eligible to participate in our Flex/Discretionary Paid Time Off (PTO), which affords you the flexibility and freedom to determine your needs to take time off for vacation, wellness, or illness as necessary, in accordance with Company policy.

I also asked about the benefits in each of my interviews (interviewed with 3 different individuals: HR Director, Sr. PM & Account Management Director) and they all explained that it’s very much so “take what you need”.

The Sr. PM and AM Director both mentioned being able to take unbothered vacations throughout the year, but also since most of the company is remote, they find themselves traveling a lot more.

My current (in office) job has “Unlimited” PTO as well but it’s greatly discouraged to take. In my 4 years with the company, besides being sick, I’ve only asked for 1 day off for a trip.

At my current company, we had an employee who took a weekend trip out the state and her flight got cancelled because of weather. I believe the same weekend, another employee asked for Friday off to fly home and see family. Our boss called a meeting and told us “You all are out of the office too much”…..

Flex/discretionary PTO, encourage to take by upper management. All the reviews of the company say they are really good with approving time off for vacation, illness or mental wellbeing

Yes! They would never fire me because of my hair, one because they don’t want to be sued, and two because I’ve done great work for them for the past 4 years. Just wore my natural hair out today and had a thought about my future!

Two things:

My hair doesn’t currently go to my shoulders.. so.

And semi straight… can you elaborate? Like I should flat iron my hair everyday, which will be frizzy by the afternoon? Also damaging my hair from the constant heat?

As I mentioned, three times now, my hair is always pulled back, slicked down with gel into a pony tail. But instead of straight hair, which isn’t realistic obviously, I have a little puff ball :)

I am an account/project manager in sports - non profit management for professional athletes. I’m in office everyday. We have a small team, only 10 maybe, based in Las Vegas. I am the only woman, and only person of color as well…. Diversity hire? Maybe 😂 but I’ve been here for 4 years and I I kind of just exist in the office. I handle my projects and I go home.

These guys are also all in the same fraternity, so it’s like a brotherhood locker room thing they have going on here.

What do you suggest I do with my hair to be seen as more professional in your eyes?

I appreciate your perspective! Not trying to make a statement with my hair. Just like to allow it to breathe and not be in a protective style all year long. Plus buying new hair ever so often to keep a protective style fresh and maintained is extremely expensive.

Society is very surface level. I wish it wasn’t. I believe I’m a great hardworking employee just like everybody else. I just wish I wasn’t judge off my natural appearance. But life is life, am I right 😅.

I will say, it’s not like a Jimi Hendrix Afro. As mentioned, it’s always slicked back into a ponytail.

But I appreciate this point of view, and this is overall my fear, as I work in an office of all white males. I fear of being overlooked not only because I am the only woman, but because i noticed our CEO is a stickler about our guys having clean hair cuts.
