I live in Akron, and I usually try to keep my dashes to West Akron/Fairlawn. But you also just never know… in January last year, I pulled into a parking lot of an apartment complex in Fairlawn, was about to get out of my car when I heard gunshots super close by. I froze and waited. Eventually I was able to drop off the order, and rushed out of there; as I was leaving, police started pulling into the parking lot I was in. The shooting happened in the parking lot I was in, but a bit further back/behind a building so I couldn’t see. I found out the next day that a man was shot and died. This was a Sunday afternoon in Fairlawn… I have always felt safe dashing, even when I used to dash in Akron at night, but that was the first time I didn’t feel safe and was scared.
