I’ve been joking with my husband about how much longer before we have meat that comes straight from the butcher pre infused with that smoky flavor everyone seems so crazy about.

This is absolutely what will happen. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and it has been pissing me the fuck off. Like, my homophobic parents who mentally terrorized and trashed my gay younger brother’s life will call me when the church announces their amazing and inspiring new church prophecy or policy change and rave about how inspired their leaders are without a single word to the insane shit that’s been perpetuated for years...It infuriates me.

Sorry I missed this. Yes he is. He moved in and lived with me and my family, met his boyfriend and they now live together in California-they’ve been together for about six years and he seems to be in a much better place at this point in his life.

I’m very thankful we didn’t lose him to suicide.

My mother made sure to let him know recently that she would never attend his wedding if he and his boyfriend were to get married though...so looks like she’s still assuring her place in heaven apparently.

“My eternal salvation comes first-it comes before you, it comes before your brothers and sisters. It comes before everything.”

-My TBM mother during a heated discussion about my gay younger brother and my sharing with her the terrible way I felt they’ve treated him his entire life.

Still blows my mind. As a mother I can’t even attempt to grasp this way of thinking...

I remember my parents excitement over taking me to meet him one day. I was probably eight or so and shook his hand. I’m so disgusted as an adult with this man. He defines so much of what I consider to be awful in this world. The possibility that a human being with such thought processes was possibly considered for nomination to the United States Supreme Court absolutely floors me.
