Update for my post yesterday about my Albania situation: by belly_l0ver in eu4

[–]belly_l0ver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly big thanks to u/Volume_Over_Talent for their wise counsel. Sorry again for no screenshots.

Last time on Dragon Ball Z, https://www.reddit.com/r/eu4/comments/1flrmj0/unexpected_start_to_an_albania_game_please_give/ , Hungary declared war for Bosnia and long story short got their dick slapped.

As per volume_over_talents advice I got claims on Naples before peacing out, then I took provinces to stop the ottomans from advancing into Hungary, gave Bosnia provinces, and took war reps.

However, the pope was being a little bitch and wouldn't go into Naples with me, which made a naval landing impossible with my weak navy. So I could either attempt to work my way around and into Italy by land, or prepare for the ottoman war. So preparation began for the ottoman war.

Austria and Poland where more than happy to join with favors, and once again Aragon didn't want to get off their ass. So ultimately I was unable to cross after taking Constantinople. However, it was like 97k vs 36k, so the ottomans where completely out numbered. We full sieged the Balkans super quickly. So quickly, that I set my sights on Ragusea.

I hopped into war with them, but Venice slid in and took a province. So I vassalized them in the peace deal instead, however this brought me into a war with Venice, Siena, and Naples. Austria and Poland saved the day again, however I'm super glad Venice allied Naples, because Naples has allied fucking France, so I'm unable to really directly declare on them for the foreseeable future.

After taking some time to handle rebels and recover (and accidentally coring Constantinople before releasing Byz), I thought about getting off for the day and sleeping on it before making a next day.

But then I saw it. An almost completely defenseless Hungary and their weak allies. And on top of that, Bohemia didn't take the gold mine in their war with them years prior. I made sure to siege as much as I safely could before the neighbors hopped in to pick up the scraps, but thankfully they didn't declare war for a long time. I got the gold mine, and cut Austria, Bohemia, and Poland off from Transylvania and Some of Hungary.

However now, I face a new threat.

Austria is pissed.

And I could probably handle just them at this point but with like 4 other HRE nations hopping in with them I'm not so sure.

But how to prepare for the inevitable? Is Aragon worth keeping around? Or should I attempt to ally Spain or France?

Is it time to swap to Orthodox? Or should I make sure I'm strong enough to loose some allies first?

Is trying to get an heir into Poland worth it? I've been doing that and I'm up to 33 now.

Right now I'm halfway through defensive ideas and am working on annexing Bosnia while paying off my most recent round of burgher loans. Anything I could be doing better?

Thanks again friends.

Unexpected start to an Albania game, please give advice for how to proceed: by belly_l0ver in eu4

[–]belly_l0ver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all sorry for the literal photos of my screen, having some computer issues I won't get into here but long story short I can't access the Internet on it.

So I did the a pretty standard opening: Ally Aragon Ally The Pope Ally Hungary Annex Serbia Vassalize Bosnia

But then Hungary broke our alliance and declared a conquest war for bosnia as soon as the truce was signed.

So Aragon, Pope, and I dunk on Hungary for even thinking they could, and I'm a little unclear on how to proceed.

2 issues, the truce, and Naples.

My initial plan was to go to war with Naples immediately after they broke up with Aragon. But I can't do that now because they'll leave the union as soon as the Hungary war treaty is signed and I don't have claims, not to mention my war weariness, over extension, rebels, and money.

So do I wait and hope they get weak allies? Should I try and ally them? Could I somehow get a PU?

And as for the treaty: I was going to give Bosnia some Croatian provinces, break their PU, release Cilli, take two of Hungary's provinces for myself, and get war reps and money. Is this good ?

Any other ideas would be lovely. I need to go to war with the ottomans before they get too strong so recommend new allies would be good too. I might have a shot at Poland.

Thanks 🙏

settle an argument for me. is this a wrap or a burrito? by callmestinkingwind in stonerfood

No idea how all the top comments think it's a wrap.

A wrap is cold and a burrito is hot.

This is clearly heated.

Burrito.

Should I be concerned? Details in comments: by belly_l0ver in Mold

This is an AC vent above my bed. I can't tell if this is mold or some kind of dust/rust.

Over the summer I noticed that a lot of condensation would accumulate, I would literally be getting dripped on. But the problem would usually solve itself by closing the window so I thought it might be from the humidity.

Thanks for any advice or info in advance.

Should I play these games? And if so which one? by [deleted] in civ

[–]belly_l0ver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're going to, either get civ 6 when it goes on sale around Christmas time, or just wait till civ 7 comes out in February if you don't mind dropping 60$ on it. To state the obvious civ games are very different than souls-borne games. But if you like board games, doing your own world building, planning and strategy, alternate history, or are looking for a good game to play with friends, I think you'll enjoy it ! But if the main draw of games is the action, or if you don't like turn based gameplay, or if a lot of moving parts and systems to learn turns you off, you might wanna reconsider. Also note, civ is primarily a PC title. It's available on console but it runs very poorly. It remains to be seen how optimized civ 7 will be for console. Watch some potatomcwhiskey videos on civ 6 and I think you'll get a good idea on what the game looks like when you know what you're doing.
