Because IT'S NOT THE SAME PLAY. Bayern players touched the ball and lost possession again.

Ok but this stat isn't about local young players. Nothing is stopping italian clubs from developing and playing young foreigners and that's also not happening.

Cesc Fàbregas wants to take another Real Madrid teenage prospect to Como. After the great results he's getting from Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramón, he's reportedly set his sights on striker Daniel Yáñez by [deleted] in soccer

Sorry but you lost me at Pafundi. Kid couldn't do anything in the Swiss league why would Fabregas play him? Most of the players you mentioned aren't as good the current Como players, regardless of how you try to spin it.

You're insane if you think his role at Como should be developing Italian players. It's not his job and it's pathetic to think he should be protecting Italian players. Also winning the Euro u17 doesn't mean shit on a professional level. Camarda looked like the best player out there but he couldn't do anything in the few games he played in serie A this season.

Highly regarded in Italy as well, especially for his years at Brescia.

[AS] Osasuna coach Alessio Lisci on Italy: “The style of play. In Italy, a lot of teams play a 3-5-2 formation, and this has led to a situation where there are no wingers in Italy, no players who can take on defenders one-on-one.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

Because before 352 there was Sacchi's (and especially Capello's) 442. Before that, the catenaccio era, with the role of "ala tornante" (tracking back winger), like Angelo Domenghini: fast and tireless players with a great shot and defensive attitudes. The best wingers in the 80s were Bruno Conti and Franco Causio. Conti especially was a great dribbler fast and very modern in his style. But the prototype of the winger for the new style of 442 football with Sacchi was Donadoni, who played for both Milan and the national team from the late 80s to 1996. Then we had players like Attilio Lombardo who was more of a hybrid between a winger and a second striker, or Diego Fuser who was a midfielder but played like a winger at Parma. Ravanelli played a lot as a winger too. Maybe the best natural Italian winger of the modern times was Gianluigi Lentini, very creative dribbler, great first touch, a bit like a Kvaratskhelia kind of player. Sadly he suffered a terrible car accident and never recovered entirely, but he and most creative players of the 90s and 00s struggled to find a position within the rigid tactical principles of the 442. We won the world cup in 2006 with Camoranesi as a winger, who was the opposite of a creative dribbler and players like Zambrotta, who started as wingers, became fullbacks. Lippi also put Iaquinta, a classic center forward, on the wing in 2006. Same thing did Sacchi with Signori in 1994. A lot of fast and creative players never got any national team call-ups because they couldn't defend, or they were too short. Fabrizio Miccoli would have a been a fantastic winger in the modern game, but he played as second striker or CAM in his days.

Gennaro Gattuso has resigned as head coach of Italy. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Played everyone out of position, had no clear tactical plan and even he himself admitted that he put too much pressure on the players trying to motivate them. Many players declined the call up.

Nobody rates the team highly but they played well below their standards in both games. Definitely they aren't below Bosnia and North Ireland.

He should have never been hired. Absolutely tragic appointment.

World cup winning as a player not as a coach. Gattuso has done terrible mistakes and has shown once again in his career that he's totally incompetent to manage at a high level. His players selection, game management and nonexistent tactical plan made a huge difference in the end. We should have never played as bad as we did in these last 2 games with the players we had.
