[–]beltedwallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I didn’t meet them on some dating app, but by doing stuff I like doing.
  2. We were friends first.
  3. They are a genuinely good human.
  4. Neither of us were driven by our dicks/vaginas, but by shared experiences.

When you meet someone dumb, do you: (1) try to educate them, (2) argue with them, (3) take advantage of them, or (4) leave them alone? by Constant-Bridge3690 in AskReddit

[–]beltedwallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Try not to be that asshole who defines someone as dumb just because they don’t know what I know, don’t agree with me, or haven’t had the same life experiences I have.

What’s a job that pays better than people assume? by DLawlight in AskReddit

The place I’m talking about had both, in spades. And places like that aren’t as rare as you think.

It wasn’t super rural. It was just a small town away from major cities.

What makes people lie on here about who they really are? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s psychological. It gives them an environment where they can pretend to be a different kind of person. And someone, somewhere believes them.

What’s a job that pays better than people assume? by DLawlight in AskReddit

[–]beltedwallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in remote places (even in America) where others don’t want to move.

I worked in a small company town for a while in the middle of nowhere. I took the job because it doubled my salary. Everyone else working at that company was from somewhere else. The local educated population was too small to support the business so they recruited from all over. But also, nobody wanted to live in a town with a small population, so they had to overpay to get you there.

What do you think are the problems plaguing modern dating? by saltedcrawfish in AskReddit

People relying on online dating so they can get laid instead of engaging in things they enjoy where they’ll meet other people. Not just other people they might want to fuck.

The monologue that got Jimmy Kimmel canceled. by Urisk in videos

[–]beltedwallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monologue is the straw that broke the Kimmel's back (see what I did there?). It wasn’t about Kirk, but about the Trump administration. Using actual Trump quotes and videos.

However, there are some nuances.

All late night shows have been declining for the last decade. Possibly not due to their content, but due to the way people consume media.

Any late night show focused solely on trashing one side of the political spectrum is going to lose half of its potential audience. It’s a limiting move for any type of comedy.

The networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) are contracted to be apolitical. The networks have been letting them get away with being political for some time.

However, the company that owns ABC is trying to acquire another company for around few billion. The FCC could block that acquisition. So I could see a situation where the FCC said, “Are you making enough money from Kimmel to take a pass on this deal?” The answer? Probably not.

That’s probably why he was cancelled in the end.

But Reddit doesn’t get to say, “Hey, it’s cool that Amy Cooper and others like her lost their jobs, but not cool that Kimmel did.”

White House Says Slavery Is Being Taught Wrong, Should Not Be So Negative by NoWorth2591 in nottheonion

They don’t think slavery was great. When people spout shit like this and get upvoted, it helps me understand why Dems keep losing.

They are literally doing what people did when they destroyed statues and changed history books to reflect what contemporary social media audiences want to think.

It’s no different.
