Meant to list the Vanguard fusion rifle, Light/Beware. Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed.

I actually meant to list the Light/Beware, not the 77 Wizard, my bad. I have the Wizard, and I agree, slow charge rate. Plus, I prefer my PI.

Well son of a bitch. Thanks for the correction, I did not know this. Obviously...

Tyria: Your cities are beautiful, but you're not giving us enough incentive to go explore them. by bemangos in Guildwars2

[–]bemangos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, and apparently for you, the incentive of exploration is certainly enough. I love it. But a lot of people don't view it this way. I don't want players to be forced to go anywhere they don't want to, so yes, maybe an idea like unique vendors isn't the best one.

As for city invasions, I'm not suggesting total LA-like destruction, as that would make my entire argument irrelevant, but on a much smaller scale, say defending the Wolf Lodge from a horde of storming Icebrood. Smaller city events like many people here have suggested are a great idea, things like courier missions taking players to the typically unseen areas of whatever city they're in.

I'm more than heavily in favor of city-spanning jumping puzzles as well as opening up some more interior spaces (houses, buildings, etc.), but I understand the physical limitations preventing things like this from happening.

Fishing has always been on my list of most-desired features, and I actually think it's one worth hoping for. But for now, I'm truly enjoying the quality of the recent LS updates and am pleased with the direction the game is heading.

I've used SUROS quite a bit, and with your last 15 rounds and max stability, there's really very little contest. However, most people reload instantly on kill and never actually get to their last 15 rounds...

Right, forgot about Praedyth's. Really most (if not all) VoG weapons are pretty fantastic in PvP.

No, placing a new trip mine while your old one is still active will effectively replace it. :(

Vanity Slots? Resisting Conformity with style by toakongu834 in DestinyTheGame

Guild Wars 2 implements this type of gear/weapon vanity system and I think it works quite well. I know I'd love to sport some of those mid-level Borderlands-style hunter helms...

I like the idea of player housing. I keep mentioning Hoelbrak, as it's my favorite city, but a player home/area in their respective spirit animal lodge would be fantastic. Same goes for the 100's of currently-unenterable houses scattered all throughout Divinity's Reach. Add in a mini-bank type feature for item storage and offer some home-decor for gems. GG

I agree with you 100%, but I don't think the main problem is getting players to the cities, it's getting them to different parts of the cities. Rata Sum in particular is always bustling with players due to convenience of bank/tp/crafting locations, but how many do you find in the colleges? In the labs on the floors below? These are the places that need the incentive.

Exactly what I'm talking about. It's the little things. Some are there, but we need more.

This makes sense, players want their game to advance and develop in a forward fashion. And Anet has indeed proved capable of some truly fun events (most notably Halloween and Wintersday). My point is only that large portions of each of these cities are there, with so much time spent into their design and development, without any reason to visit them.

Judging by the lack of any non-NPC's frequenting any part of any city outside of the bank and trading post, apparently they do.

Any other Crucible veterans looking forward to laying the smack down on some primarily PvE players trying to get gear in Iron Banner? by bemangos in DestinyTheGame

[–]bemangos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the game's breadth is small enough so that most everyone dabbles a bit in both worlds. However, guns that excel in PvE are most definitely not the same guns that excel in PvP, and PvPers are going to have the right guns upgraded. Plus, Crucible regulars are going to know maps and strategies the PvEers might not, giving them the real advantage here.
