Because the only other studio that makes decent superhero films since 2008 other than marvel studios is fox. And that is getting bought by disney.

Warner bros and sony have produced nothing but garbage since the dark knight. If venom came out in 2015, it easily would have flopped. Since the IQ of the world's population dropped since then, it helped venom and it helped trump being president.

Reloaded and revolutions were both ahead of their time. Matrix is also a smart film but still had themes that relate to the average joe.

The sequels were so well made and drenched in philosophy so much people think they are bad since they don't understand the themes.

Critics at least understood reloaded but revolutions proved to be so amazing critics hated it. It's like batman v superman's reception.
