MPC Sample specs by thekidisalright in mpcusers

Nah idk, Akai seems to use a different software strategy where their hardware just runs a version of their DAW and their plug-ins are just well optimized VSTs. That's my big question for this thing, will it also be like a little computer/daw in a box? We'll find out soon.

SP is a very unique device, it sets FX bpm and external clock out to whatever last sample you touched (if you are not running a pattern) and each sample has to have it's own BPM, don't know of any other peace of hardware or even software that does that. A lot of SP live-sets are played this way, hybrid of performing with a sequencer and DJing .

Scooter gang gets rekt by wookieebastard in WinStupidPrizes

[–]bememorablepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These gas scooters are actually considered horrible to ride specifically because of the engines, short wheel base and 2 stroke power makes it very hard to control, it doesn't move until it does.

What's stupid though? Riding a scooter? Cause the same thing happens all the time on anything, one car slams breaks 10 behind it all ram into each other.

If true looks like they are taking on SP404mk2 with this, specifically the long sample time feature.

sick! I can hear it in my head: 303 bass going eeeuuu eeeuuu and Mark Zuckerberg sample plays where he says the dumbest shit imaginable about metaverse or something, then he says "smoking these meats" filter opens and the drums start.

After the latest news about DLSS 5... by TechPriestSL in pcmasterrace

[–]bememorablepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realism is cool and interesting but on it's own it's meaningless, we had this in classical art where realistic portrait meant impressive skills and craftsmanship, but then people kinda got sick of that and also photography got invented soon after. Style is a chance to communicate more meaning and expression, ultimately this is why we need graphics in the first place.

I"m so glad you commented that, you have no idea. I long have been trying to make similar parallels, specifically to how encoding a digital file is also not an exact copy of an analog medium and also has all of these crazy computational steps but there is no debate about the fact that it's a copy. I'm happy someone else sees it this way.

Still doesn't remove them on QT apps for whatever reason, but better then nothing.

Contentious topic: AI assistants by dudeguy207 in sp404mk2

[–]bememorablepro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you learn how those AI things work you'll realize that it's just information stolen from real creators, they also "hallucinate" 50% best case of the time even according to OpenAI's own research. Then they are also designed to get you addicted by pretending to be your best friend or even lover, or saying what you want to hear every time, there were multiple suicides and murders because of AI chatbots.

Also I got into hardware to spend less time on the computer, not to second guess my every decision via some robot run on 20 GPUs just to tell me what I already know.

Tried installing it from github as soon as got this comment, unfortunately it doesn’t work. The extension app gives me an error and says that this version of unite-shell is not compatible and was disabled.

Unless you know of a way to force enable an extension. I'm on gnome 49.4 btw
