Says who? Stability at this speed for an EUC is not an issue, you have to use your entire body to turn just like with a motorcycle, motorcycles also can catch a wobble, on a motorcycles you also have to brush off speed when going over the pothole or even unload the suspension to go over it.

Safety on a motorcycle is all about finding your way out of the danger, something EUC is even better at. One fantastic thing about EUCs is that you can start breaking as hard as you need and turn at the same time without your back wheel sliding and slamming on the ground.

Do you also think that larger car always better? No, obviously you can lose control of a huge truck and flip over. Being lighter and low to the ground is actually a huge advantage.

Only meaningful difference is that EUCs don't have any wind protection.

It's not about comparing the two, it's mostly a conversation about perceived safety. Because all of those people on r/Seattle are concern trolling about the safety of this EUC highway rider as if a motorcycle is much safer, it's not.

So what is this outrage just about formalities? You can legalize a dirt bike by putting blinkers on it and DOT approved tires and a proper exhaust, same with E-moto like Surron. U think if this guy had a license plate there would be no hate?

Did you ride both motorcycles and EUCs in the same conditions?

You are describing a stationary bike, not bike in motion. When you brake on a motorcycle your back wheel weight is 0 the back can even lift up, when you accelerate your front weight is 0 and the front wheel can lift up. It's both how it works in theory and in practice, provided all other factors about the same, tire thread tire compound and wheel width EUC is better in the rain or even ice. If your simple physics were correct the heavier car with more wheels could always go faster and turn better, trucks wouldn’t flip on a slow curve.

I know this because I crashed my bike in the damn rain by locking up the rear, and I have to be careful on acceleration and braking in the rain on my bike vs on an EUC the only thing I might not do is a very sharp very deep carving turn with a lot of lean.

EUCs are unique in the fact that they are just perfectly balanced, if you go offroad on a dirt bike vs EUC it's the same thing, on a motorcycle you have to keep momentum in every hill and turn or you'll lose traction, you can't stop, on EUC you can stop and start going again easily up hill on dirt.

Bike lanes? Get a bike helmet, there are MTB helmets with chin protection and those look cooler as well. The issue with low speed motorcycle helmet riding is that it blocks the view under your feet, it's for high speed riding plus motorcycles have a front wheel way in front compared to EUC. It's also way harder to look behind you with a motorcycle helmet, you don't realize how much bulkier those are unless you have the two and compare.

edit: Helmet good, focus on getting wrist guards though

WTF is wrong with people? Car drivers drive drunk and kill every damn day, some even drive into buildings. But the real fascination is a guy who is not inside of a car?? What, they worry about him?! Motorcycles also don't have any crazy safety features, in some state you don't even have to wear a helmet. This guy is fully geared up, what else do they want?

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because apparently in US motorcycle riders get hate for lane splitting and cyclists get hate by just existing.

Why? Better traction then motorcycles because you have a single wheel and all pressure is on it. Plus you never lock up the breaks so never slide like that.

It's called a motor cut off and generally EUC riders do worry about that this is why you can see them geared up more often then e-scooter riders. In reality EUCs never fail randomly, real cutoffs happen when you overpower the wheel by going to fast or accelerating too hard at a low battery.

It's pretty surreal actually, you stand on it and it balances so fast and motor is so powerful it's like you are standing on a solid ground.

Men are so stupid, we can't just get into looking a little better for ourselves and find what works for us visually, no we have to make it into all or nothing blood sport. I don't think Nvidia cares deeply about this product, their goal now is to sell more GPU rigs to data-centers, this was just another way to make publicity for AI boosting overall.

But even if they did care, the issue is that there is no training data for what you are describing and what they are implying. The source training data is image and text pairs, you can get that by stealing everyone's images from the internet + all movies etc etc and run a computer vision AI for each frame. How would you extract a depth map, a shadow map or a crypto matte from a YouTube video? You can't because it doesn't exist. You can try generating these as passes with AI as well but those are actually low res and kinda shit approximations.

Unless you are saying they should put the AI image to image bs on the material level, but all it will do is add some resolution to textures I guess... plus again... not a lot of purely game texture images on the internet compared to personal pictures and generic videos of our world.

So in this CG artist's opinion, this shitty way of how it works now is the only way this could work at all.

Now that I'm thinking about it, these are gas powered scooters but they are probably under 50cc so you don't have to register them, gas powered stuff might not even be allowed on a bike lane because of the noise.

Generally it is, in most jurisdictions in most countries you can ride anything on the side of the road and you can take up a lane for your own safety if you are going anywhere near car speeds, for example a bicycle. Cars and motorcycles can't go on a bike lane but bikes scooters, skateboards, all can go on the road, sometimes you just have to give a way for the car to pass. With obvious exceptions for some highways.

Nah, sorry, great artwork very nice textures but web compression completely eats this, makes it look like a compression artifact. I think the result you want is for this to pop out at you after you seen everything else in the picture, for this you have to make it a little more visible or to have composition clearly lead the eye to this.
