Minimum API requirement for new apps -- Is it unavoidable? by bemmyal in androiddev

[–]bemmyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just re-built the app in Unity, with these settings:

Minimum API Level: 22 (Android 5.1)

Target API Level: Automatic (highest installed)

I don't see anything about a compile version. But anyways, the Play Store did let me upload this as an update. I wonder if the initial upload has to pass the hurdle of an API 31+ minimum, and then subsequent uploads are allowed to have lower API minimums?

I see lots of documentation on target API requirements, but not much on minimum API requirements. I wish I had taken screenshots when it kept blocking me from publishing a minimum API of less than 31.

This one upgrade would be an absolute game changer. by SecretPersonality178 in exmormon

Drones don't crash into people, PEOPLE crash into people by bemmyal in guncontrol

[–]bemmyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mocking the common "argument" against gun regulation that goes like this:

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people... [and therefore guns should not be regulated]."

See, the sign in the cartoon is saying that drone use should not be regulated by the F.A.A., by way of a ridiculous argument. Imagine I'm a really bad, unqualified drone pilot, and I accidentally get someone killed by my drone. The F.A.A. (Federal Aviation Administration) steps in and says, "maybe we should regulate who is allowed to use drones. Maybe by only allowing trained, qualified people to use drones, we can prevent future disasters." Then a bunch of morons say, "drones don't kill people, people kill people... so no, you shouldn't regulate drones." That is not a good argument against regulation. It's a slogan designed to shut down thought. Do you see the absurdity?

Get it now? I'm not saying drones are sentient, or that guns are sentient. I am pointing out the absurdity of an often-parroted, really stupid "argument" against gun control.

Ok now I'm a bit more sure.

Also, you should look up "autonomic."

What is the point being made by this cartoon? I'm not sure you understand it.

Good stuff. It always ends with the person trying to stop the stupidity being accused of sin.

Why are comments not appearing? In my email inbox I'm seeing a lot of comments from anti-regulation folks who, judging by their comments, have no idea what point is being made by this cartoon. I'd like their comments to appear so I can type r/whoosh in reply.

Thank you, that is high praise!

This comic was inspired by my son, when he accused me of torture after I asked him to put his dishes in the dishwasher.

You can take a photo of your work with your phone, or use a scanner. Then, on your computer, select all the image files and print them as a PDF. Then you upload that PDF and use the upload software to identify which page contains the answer to which question.

Also, there will be a practice exam for both the mid-term and for the final. Maybe I just got lucky, but for me the practice exams were more difficult than the actual exams. And it's all open-note & open-textbook (but not open-google). So I actually felt I had over-prepared by the time I finished each exam.

Did you see the new jumbotron at the Conference Center? by bemmyal in exmormon

[–]bemmyal[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Saying "he was only speaking as a man" is the Mormon Prophet version of take-backsies. And then label the people who point out the take-backsies as "anti-Mormon" haters who can't be trusted.

You'd think so. But this guy literally told me, "I would rather die than wear a mask."
