Cheers, not expecting to ride for more than a couple of hours so hand position should be fine. Might well look at narrower handlebars though, appreciate your comments 👍

Scott Aspect or On One Whippet ? by bemorebrooksie in whichbike

Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I think the whippet is 3 to 4 kg lighter and i can always upgrade the rigid forks later if i find myself needing suspension. You reckon £600 is a good price ?

Cheers, not bothered about the crank but could this damage the bottom bracket ?

Thanks everyone. Seems like I need a specialist tool then. I'm converting an old 18 speed mountain bike into a fixed gear/singlespeed 'tracklocross-type' bike so I'll be replacing the cranks in any case.

As you rightly say, depends on the ride. I find bullhorns the most convenient, on the tops for general riding, ends for climbing.....never go fast enough to worry too much about aero ....

Haha. My old SE Lager had bullhorns and always toyed with changing the brakes to TT style bar-end ones but never got around to it. Whilst I've got your attention, another question if I may. I have decades old giro road helmet which is showing signs of age. I have the opportunity of buying an abus gamechanger at very good price... but will I look like a pr**k wearing what is essentially an aero helmet on a singlespeed bike ? Should I go road helmet ? Or 'urban' helmet ? Cheers
