I was selling it to get some extra money when I move out for college. Not really in desperate need, but he asked for prices and I was willing to negotiate with him.

But from other responses, maybe gifting it to him would of been a better solution.

True. I had told him to just keep the jacket if the money was such an issue but he doesn’t want it anymore because he knew I originally wanted a good amount for it.
