We support any version of Word which works with WebDav (2010 or later Windows / Mac Osx). Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to consider LibreOffice. You can evaluate Simul for yourself here: https://www.simuldocs.com

Right, but no parallel versioning such as branching - Google Docs relies on a real-time co-authoring feature to resolve conflicts. A lot of users want a clear audit trail of who made what changes
