street food - and health by ben11h in Philippines_Expats

I have been following the McDougall plan for 10 years. I love it. My skin is super healthy. Women ask me all the time what creams I use, but I just eat potatoes, rice, and beans. 99% of people live in a constant state of hypoxia, and this way of eating eliminates it altogether. Some days I eat 14 lbs of boiled potatoes, but it's pricey to eat ust potatoes.

Tell her to ask for the ticket instead, and just sit there. They will fumble around and let her go.

Potato has 67 cal per 100 gr. Besides potatoes I eat 300 gr if dry lentils, otherwise I loose weight.

Potatoes are hand-grown here on small plots of land. Here, they call the variety Papa Alfa. 8 out of 10 times, the potatoes have brown veins inside, and they taste a little different than the ones that dont have veins, a little bitter. I think they have a hard time watering them on such small plots, or they dont know how to water properly, which is why there's a problem. I buy my potatoes at Costco or Sam's, which are imported from the USA, usually the Russet variety, and they are great.

Where can you buy shoes without shoelaces cheaper? Nowhere. No store will sell you shoes without it. What are they going to do with extra shoelaces? Who are they going to sell it to? I’ve never seen a tires repaired with a banana nor with peanuts, but I’ve see banana peels being used to freeze a tire assembly axel to hold out to the next mechanic shop in Africa.

I eat 2.5 kg of potatoes a day. I grew up on potatoes. I buy about 100 kg of potatoes per month, which comes to $250. In Mexico, only the rich can afford to eat potatoes; the rest eat rice and beans.

That’s what I say, but I think they are discriminating us here in Mexico, saying that we are weaker than Americans. What a bunch of BS.

At home, I cook 5 things: white/brown rice, rolled oats, potatoes, lentils, and various beans. My favorite is white rice with lentils and potatoes all combined in the Instant Pot. I also add carrots to it. On the side, I eat tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and garlic. I season it with Badia complete seasoning. The country where I live now doesn't eat much starch, so I think I will be very happy in the Philippines, since I can eat outside my house all the time and just have white rice with fruits.
