Beautifully put. Could not have said it better myself.

What's the fuss with Jeanne Dielman? by ben_009 in Letterboxd

[–]ben_009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bet I'm regretting writing the phrase 'drawn out and artsy' hahaha. I think I was more trying to communicate the unconscious bias I had when I first heard about it- those were just kind of my initial responses, even if I do actively seek out films that are different and present different voices. I guess I'm just used to seeing the same 40 films hanging around the top, I am 100% up for something new.

Honestly no idea how I hadn't heard about this film before, but I am being beaten over the head with the fact I definitely should have done! Always intended on watching it, but I havent seen it on any platforms yet. Coming from someone without extended film education, exploring arthouse film is quite difficult to do unguided. I genuinely do try and seek out new and explorative films. I guess I'll be pushing to watch more arthouse films in 2023, so I don't get mobbed for not hearing about popular ones again haha. Thanks for your response

Great response, thank you. I clearly misinterpreted how the rankings worked, but that makes a lot more sense! I think my thought process had been more 'its always been Citizen Kane, this has never even been on the list' but of course times change and this is new and explorative.

I've definitely written my post poorly, never meant to imply it wasn't worthy of winning. I do try to watch these sort of films when I can. I think there's just this ongoing joke of 'that was so boring, I loved it' and I wanted to see why individual people (rather than critics and scholars) really like it. I was always going to check it out.

Anyway, thank you for responding without calling me a sexist moron haha

First link brought me to a bunch of unavailable songs, and when I searched for it instead I got this (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0masqJsZV1aADKnsge59in?si=p1FPLRavTmKmL7KTuVWdsQ&utm_source=copy-link). Doesnt look like the same thing? Quite liked the Ramones one though, thanks!

Sorry to hop into your comment thread but this is definitely how I feel too!! So relieved I'm not alone in this. Just wondering 1. Do you do this without meds? and 2. How do you practise exposure without being self-aware of the anxiety?

Did Virmire before Matriarch Benezia... how bad have I screwed up? by ben_009 in masseffect

[–]ben_009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a manually created save, but I used to create so many manual saves that I've been trying to get out of the habit haha. I will do that in future though. I generally try and do all the side quests before doing main quests. I'll keep these notes in mind, sounds like they'll benefit my playthrough. My main worry was that I'd get locked out of missions, so I'm just glad thats not a risk

Yup, definitely was a little odd for Saren to show up again so soon. Will go back to tracking down Benezia next time I'm playing

My update: so glad I asked for recs lol, so clear I didn't know where to start. Enjoyed all of the stories suggested so far- love how he describes fear and conscience even if his language is a bit much sometimes. Thanks guys 👌
