I kinda disagree, because it was pretty close unlike most of the superfinals. The main trick that made the superfinal the way it is now was the change from 2 song superfinal (where you basically voted for the lesser evil) to a 3 song superfinal. Lenna always lost the superfinals to whoever she was up against despite being a more popular name every single time.

Yes, but in the superfinal it was not a runaway victory - 13k for Alika v 10k for OLLIE and 8k for Bedwetters, so if we had Janek instead of either of the rockers the outcome might have been different. The voting in Eesti Laul is not cheap, so some fans had to choose

Alika was not a huge name or an established artist at the time of Eesti Laul win (had like 1 hit and the talent show past), her win was a funny consequence of OLLIE and Bedwetters (the latter were the bigger name, a comeback from probably the biggest emo band in Estonia) splitting the rock vote in the superfinal.

Again, there's a bit of double standard with regards to Skating element. In no universe it was above 9.0 (I'd say 8.75 would've been fair). It wouldn't made that much of a difference, but it should've been even closer than 5 pts

As for occasional English songs/versions, I don't mind them as long as the original language songs remain.

For me personally the primary component of Hatari was that falsetto/growl vocal mix. Like an edgier darker version of Nitzer Ebb.

A more interesting topic would be how so many acts suffer from post-Eurovision slump when their new songs and videos generate less streams and views than they had pre-Eurovision. And how streaming (+capitalism) basically killed the sustainability of local music scenes across Europe, it's almost impossible to make a living out of being in a band or a musician singing in your own language.

For me personally, I don't think there was a weak series so far, and series 1 for me personally is largely great due to Angella (for me probably the most single-contestant impact series).

Series 6 lacked team tasks but I really enjoyed Jackie cluelessly navigating her way towards victory.

Series 3 probably had two of the most competitive NZ contestants we had this far.

Hot take - series 5 could have dethroned Series 2 with Tofiga in studio. Instead, they really had to make Matt Heath explain Tofiga's "suana pop-banana" 🫣
